Positive Reviews:

great for AK early summer trip/cruise

Rating:****
Very pleased with this purchase. I bought these gloves for a trip to Alaska in late May/early June. The weather was above freezing, but still quite cold because of the wind and rain/damp (especially around glaciers). I used these gloves when biking, canoeing and hiking, as well as on the ship deck for taking pictures with a compact camera (nimble enough to handle small buttons). The grip is good, and they were warm enough for the conditions. No bulk/very light to carry.
NOTE: the fit is very snug/tight. Suggest trying on before buying, or ordering the next size up.

Addicted to these Gloves

Rating:*****
I've used these gloves for years and am about to replace another pair. I find that they do wear out but I also use them a lot and can be pretty rough on them to the point that the fingers start wearing through. I disagree with previous reviews that the fit snug. My only complaint with them is that they aren't snug enough. I have small hands and the small is even loose (my Black Diamond and OR small sizes fit perfectly). But I still highly recommend these gloves. The warmth to weight ratio can't be beat.

I LOVE these gloves!

Rating:*****
I have used these gloves for many years. I agree with previous posts regarding durability: they don't last forever. But I use them multiple times weekly for cycling, hiking and cooler runs. I'm in southern Cal and never hike without them for the sun protection. They're excellent for long climbs on mountain or road bike rides for the same reason, plus they stay dry. I'll be very sad if Manzella ever stops making them.

Negative Reviews:

Disappointed - seam ripped first use

Rating:**
I used these gloves during a three day trip on Mount Washington this summer. They really did keep the wind out, and were the perfect weight/grip. However, within the first 30 minutes of using them, the seam along the thumb to the forefinger unraveled. All I was doing was using trekking poles - no rock scrambling, etc. Disappointing.

Neutral Reviews:

Good gloves but NOT durable

Rating:***
I like these gloves because they keep the sun off my hands and have a good grip. Also, though I'm a man the women's medium fits me perfectly, so if you're willing to experiment the sizing is usually quite good. BUT...the gloves wear out too quickly. After a week or two of light duty the fingertips and seams show obvious wear and it just goes downhill from there. Why can't Manzella fix this problem and offer a glove that wears normally?
