Protecting the floor of your tent from rocks, sticks, or anything else that might cause damage will prolong the life of your tent and keep you warmer, as a footprint acts as insulation between you and the ground. Marmot has designed the Aeros 3P Footprint specifically for the Aeros 3P tent, so you will have a perfect fit. Take just the footprint, poles and fly and you have a lighter weight shelter if you need to move fast & light.
Marmot Aeros 3P Tent Footprint ground cloth prolongs the life of your tent by protecting your tent floor from sharp objects and abrasions. Bare Bones Setup option allows the fly to be used by itself with the ground sheet to make a lightweight, sturdy shelter or works as an emergency rain shelter or sunshade. Footprint Material: 40d 100% Nylon 3000mm W/R, F/R. Sized a bit smaller than tent floor to prevent pooling of water between tent and footprint during wet weather.

Marmot footprints provide several benefits for the ultra fast thru-hiker and the camper wanting to protect their investment.
The Marmot Aeolos Footprint protects your tent floor from sharp objects, such as rocks and pine needles, as well as from mud and ground water. They also increase the versatility of most Marmot tents by acting as a ground cloth in lightweight tarp-style setups.
Three days into a backpacking trip is no time to find a rip in your tent's floor, so it's a good thing you brought the Marmot Aeros 3-Person Footprint for added protection. This nylon footprint snaps in place under your Marmot Aeros tent to more than double the floor's thickness and reduce the chances of un-wanted carnage.

| This footprint is completely necessary if you want your tent to have a long and happy life. It adds some protection from the rain going under the tent, as well as protecting the bottom of you new, almost-400-dollar investment. I did get mine for free through Moosejaw when I got my tent but I would have spent the $45.00 anyway had it not been free. | |

only solid with the fly on

When you don't have the fly on it comes undone from the bottom of the poles occasionally. When you have the fly on it's buckles snap into the footprint, you pull it snug, then it's rock solid. The floor of the Aeros isn't super think, good investment for sure.

"Kinda pricy, kinda heavy, kinda worth it. Sometimes."

| It keeps the rain and rocks from punching through your floor but it adds a good amount of weight to your pack. Good to have if you are unsure of the terrain that you'll be making camp in. Also, if it's cold the extra layer provides decent insulation against the cold ground. | |
