The Bastione Component Jacket is one of Marmot's great 3 in 1 styles. Built with MemBrain 2L, this piece has a highly waterproof exterior shell, with a removable hood. Designed with Thermal R, the Bastione Component has a zipped in, removable synthetic insulation, making the jacket extremely versatile. This Marmot style can act as a warm winter jacket, transform into just a great waterproof shell, or provide an extra layer with just the interior Thermal R insulation. The Bastione Component Jacket is a piece that can be used all year long.

The Bastione Component Jacket from Marmot is really three great jackets in one. The waterproof breathable shell can be worn alone or with the storm hood depending on the weather. The Thermal R-insulated liner can be worn alone for dry, cold days or with the shell for the worst weather. Talk about versatility!

DepartmentOfGoods

The Marmot Bastione Component Jacket offers beefy protection against all sorts of winter weather. The versatile design lets you wear this three-in-one jacket as a water-resistant shell that will block rain or as a warm, insulated jacket that can handle freezing temperatures. Wear both layers together for heavy-hitting, cold-and-wet conditions.

Mountain Gear

Best Jacket Ever!

I spent 3 months searching for a good winter coat for everything! I found this one and fell in love immediately. It definitely lives up to all of the pros I selected. I go hiking/climbing regularly and I would never leave home without it. Its great for everyday wear when its cold, windy, and wet out. On warmer days, you can easily remove the outer shell and just wear the insulated part. Because of this, I can wear it from september through april/may. Great price for phenomenal quality!

Sweet Jacket!

Bought primarily because of a discount and it was a relatively cheap component jacket which is what I wanted. The inner jacket is extremely warm and will serve to keep you warm if it is cold but not too windy, and the outer jacket is a good shell you can layer other articles of clothing with if you don't want to wear the inner fluff. However the shell won't keep you warm on it's own, I mean it's just a shell. Anyways. I love it!

Great Jacket

The Bastione is a great jacket. It was stuck in Canadian customs for about a week, but now that I got a chance to use it its great. Thin, not bulky and really warm. Love the pitzips, lets you cool down on a packed train without taking the jacket off. Havent had an opportunity to test the water repelency yet, but I hear its great. The build quality is really nice, its my first Marmot jacket and I am happy with it.

Quality Jacket

This jacket is a quality product. The jacket and liner function separately. The liner is lined and has it's own zippered pockets, working well on it's own. Seems like it will do well in the rain - seams are taped.

Bastione Made Snugger

I have had Marmot Bastione jackets for years but the company's Fall 2011 line is different. Made in Vietnam, sleeve length on a size XL is about 1 1/2 inches shorter than previous XLs of the Bastione and the chest fit is more like a Large than XL. It's not that I have grown, it's that Marmot is making the Bastione snugger.
