Head out for a run down a windy, chilly beach with the DriClime Catalyst Jacket from Marmot. Breathable DriClime fabric will let your sweat evaporate as it wicks it away while the Eco DWR lining keeps you safe from ocean spray and foggy drizzle, all while you listen to your tunes with your iPod safely stowed in the chest pocket headphone port. Specifications based on size Medium.
The Driclime Catalyst Jacket by Marmot is an award winning jacket that uses totally recycled materials while providing excellent protection from the elements. The DriClime material has 3 dimensional wicking and is not a finish that washes or wears out, it never stops working. The jacket continually passes moisture through to the outer surface for fast evaporation leaving you dry and safe while in the backcountry. The DriClime also provides excellent protection from heat zapping wind and light rain or snow. Packs up easily and is a great layer to bring with you when you are hiking, climbing, or running for that extra protection.
The UpCycle fabric is made from recycled plastic...hence the name “UpCycle”. When you recycle plastic, you get more plastic; when Marmot UpCycles plastic, they get fabric, a greater value and a broader use.

If you are looking for a reliable hiking or climbing jacket, check out the Marmot DriClime Catalyst Jacket. Wind resistant and water repellant, the Catalyst is perfect for approaches. The Napoleon chest pocket also makes this a great running and cycling piece with storage for your MP3 player.
The award winning Driclime Catalyst Jacket uses an UpCycle® version of Marmot's fabulous DriClime® fabric, as well as zippers. Stretch panels in the elbows make it ideal for a variety of outdoor activities.

A slightly more technical addition to our Wind line, the Marmot DriClime® Catalyst Jacket for Men uses an UpCycled version of our fabulous DriClime fabric, as well as Upcycle zippers. Stretch panels in the elbows make it ideal for a variety of outdoor activities

The Marmot DriClime Catalyst Jacket is the perfect companion for an active, green lifestyle. The DriClime Catalyst Jacket uses Marmot's UpCycle DriClime fabric, a wind and water resistant material perfect for cooler weather aerobic activities and adds stretch panels for increased ease of movement. UpCycle fabrics use natural, organic and recycled or discarded materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, so the DriClime Catalyst Jacket is a high performance Jacket you can really feel good about.

A slightly more technical addition to our Wind line, the Catalyst uses an UpCycled version of our fabulous DriClime fabric, as well as zippers
The Marmot Men's DriClime Catalyst Jacket sports a stretch-paneled, slightly heavy duty design. It features Angel Wing Movement for a full range of motion in the arms and resists wind and water. For the Catalyst Marmot added anatomic stretch panels in key areas to give you a trimmer cut and more mobility. Heavier fabric in the body and shoulders gives you increased abrasion resistance when you use it as an outer shell. Marmot uses an ECO-DWR finish and recycled UpCycle fabric in the Catalyst Jacket as part of their never-ending commitment to the outdoors.

High Tech, Evo Friendly and It Works...

| This is a very nice, light coat. I have about 18 different "fleece" jackets that, have mostly been worn ragged. I was looking for a newer, crisper model and came upon the DryClime Catalyst. Not technically a "fleece" really, but it has served me well this summer as a replacement for the usual fleece around camp, and as casual wear, but also as a good packable shell/jacket for the backcountry. I have also been pleasantly surprised at it's ability to shed light rains or drizzle, and the breathability it provides. It also provides a level of warmth that has been pretty good for me. I'm a skinny guy without much insulation and when the temp dips to a certain level, I'll need a layer to keep the chill off, no matter how hard I may be working. In these situations, most fleece keep me too warm and I feel "clammy." The Catalyst has kept me much more comfortable at those times. I've not had a chance to test it's cold temp tolerance yet but, I will before too long here in MN. Best for cool temps, wind, or in light rain conditions. When ya need a light, warm, breathable layer (though, it is not a RAIN shell for downpours of more than a moment. It will soak). Price-point may be a little high (I'm cheap, I got it on sale) but after using it, I think it's worth it. And it's made of "UpCycled" and ?recycled? materials. I can dig that. Happy Trails! | |

Kicking Jacket | |

I bought this jacket in Alaska after being unimpressed by the Northface Cypher. It just won Outside Magazine's Gear of the Year award so I figured I might as well try it out. I got it the day before I left for an 11day back pack trip in the Talkeetna mountain range in Alaska. It was a great jacket. I really loved it. It is as warm as a light fleece but nearly windproof as well. It shed some light rain (but it certainly did rain on that trip). I actually barely used my brand new Arcteryx fleece because it was just so comfortable and warm and just generally great. At the same time it was warm it certainly wasn't too warm. I wore it hiking in relatively warm alaskan days (60 degrees and cloudy) and didn't overheat. Even when I did get hot the jacket not once got clammy or even damp to the touch. A great, lightweight layer.

I used this product for a trip through the jungle in Mexico and Guatemala and all I can say is that it NEVER let me down. This is really good as an insulating layer, it breathes great... it's made with recycled materials.. what's not to love? The fit? I ordered a medium and it is a great fit on the neck (15), shoulders, arms, and JUST a little tiny big on the stomach area but it can be adjusted. I ordered a whole bunch of products with this through bc and this by far is THE BEST piece of equipment i've bought in 2008. Period.

Ridiculously comfortable

| I use this jacket more than any other, and I own about 20 different jackets. It is good from temps in the high 30's to the low 60's with just a baselayer. If you layer over a base with a fleece or something you can be comfy down to the low 20's. It is windproof but breathes very well and the stretchy underarm panels are great. It packs pretty small for a jacket with a liner and somehow the liner always feels about right--not too warm, not too cool, and it never feels weight even when I'm sweating after a run. A must have. Fit seems pretty big. | |

I give this five stars for everything but ...Marmot forgot to send this jacket to their creative department. The fabric colors in my opinion are dated looking. For such an incredible backcountry jacket Marmot in my opinion dropped the ball on looks. Maybe their idea is that it's an under-layer and doesn't really merit some cool looking hi-tech styling. The orange fabric to me doesn't look so hot and the blue is ...not very exciting either. It's super functional but the colors are not really "fun".

New replaces Old | |

Have an original DriClime from the late 90's and loved it except for I found the front a little short. This new version is great. Love this coat. Wear it in the fall, out on runs, under my shell at the resort, as an outer layer wehn touring. Really like that the front isn't as short as the original. Great piece of gear. Bought one for the wife and she loves hers as well.

This is very warm for the weght. This jacket is always lying around because it is perfect to grab in so many occasions. Wind resistance, and repels a little water. I always grab this jacket and then my wife grabs it from me when she is cold. easy to pack up small. For me it is good down to the 40's. All around good piece.

Great lightweight gear. Very versatile as shell wear/mid-layer
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Perfect lightweight jacket. Works for lots of things. Outer wear in not too cold conditions (into the 40's I would say with a good midweight insulation underneath), good mid-layer when it gets colder. This is the most versatile piece of gear I own. I like the advantages of pockets for each hand (lined with DriClime) and a neck cinch cord. Excellent piece of gear. | |

Nice outdoor coat | |

I'm 6ft, 165lb and the medium coat fit perfect. for northern California weather it's a perfect outdoor weight for the fall and spring. I am looking for a jacket that i can both wear outdoors and wear to work, but this one was too "outdoor" and not enough "office". My search continues.

New fav light & durable rain shell
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This new model works well for epics, not the most compact but the bulk is in solid construction and details vs the micro's, vented back, nice collar w/o hood, unlined arms so they stick to skin when wet, wrists had enough elastic to work above the elbow for me. | |

FIT is BAD | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
While I agree that this is a good windbreaker and the fleecy lining is insulative, the "advertised" stretch (**nothing** like a softshell like Powerstretch, etc) and fit are not great at all. I'm 6'4" (normal proportions, athletic fit) and the XL sleeves are too short. The back is constrictive/tight (despite the extremely limited" stretch") and the sleeves ride up when bending elbows while jogging (i.e. no raglan sleeves). Also the fact that the fleece is non-bonded to the nylon jacket makes for long sleeve T's to ride up/shift underneath against the fleece. IF you can forgive all these shortcomings or have exact dimensions for this jacket, then the jacket does its thing, but in the universe of jackets, this is a BAD, overhyped option. I went with a Pearl Izumi award winning wind shell (with more pockets, GREAT fit) and just add a power stretch lining for more warmth versatility. I also have an award winning Windstopper N2S wind blocker for runs (better fit, stretchier, more rain proof).

Great jacket just didn't fit me well
| Rating: | ![]() |
I have the Driclime vest and it is phenomenal for running so I thought I would get this to add to the stash for slightly colder days. I know Driclime is a great material and it would be great for running, but when I tried the jacket on I felt like I didn't have enough belly for it so I returned it. A+ on material and construction, D (for me) on fit. I'm in good shape and have an athletic build but nothing that I think would be unusual for the outdoor crowd that shops here. I'm 5' 9" weigh 165 lbs and normally wear a Medium. It fit well in the shoulders but I'm going to need to up my sucrose encrusted torus consumption before I get this jacket.
