| Awesome soft shell from my favorite company! Marmot is my favorite outdoor apparel company by far, and I have 3 other Marmot jackets in my collection to prove it. The Gravity is a GREAT looking jacket; I still cannot believe how great it looks. I originally bought the North Face Apex Bionic as a "go-everywhere" soft shell jacket. But the fit was terrible, the Medium had too much room, and the Small was way too small. So I returned it and bought the Gravity jacket. Out of my other Marmot jackets (Adamant, ATV, and a fleece), this has got to be the best looking and fitting jacket ever. It fits and looks much better than the Apex Bionic, and the athletic fit is just right for me. It has an ultra high-quality feel to the jacket, it is a bit stiff at first, but it will soften up after a while. I am in Western NY where the temperature drops down to below 20 degrees with wind blowing, and this jacket protects me well. And it will be a great layering piece for when I go skiing. Overall I am extremely happy that I chose this jacket over the North Face jacket, the Gravity looks, fits, feels, functions many times better! | |

extremely versatile | |

this is my most versatile piece of gear right now. athletic fit, but not so tight that you cant layer a thermal and fleece underneath. perfect length to wear a likewise athletic fitting shell over top. i was perfectly comfortable wearing the gravity with a midweight thermal & midweight fleece in 20 degree & cloudy weather. breathes exceptionally well, even when i did sweat after a hard run (in 45 degrees and sunny), i was always dry by the top of the chairlift. i especially appreciate that there are no pit zips bulking up the fabric under my arms. the whole obsession with pit zips is rather illogical for any shell, but its utterly ridiculous for a highly breathable softshell. if you ever get too hot, just open the biggest vent you got: the front zipper!!

The best option out there!

| [...], North Face stuff doesnt compare. THis is my third season of hard, daily use and the Gravity is more or less like new. 3 north face products were falling apart within a week and returned. The Gravity colors are also very cool. Now I have a black and a blue/gray. Gets compliments and best of all i dont look like every other schmuck who paid too much so they could look just like everyone else. If you like value, style and durability and dont like to follow the crowd, get the Gravity. And remember to unzip it on occasion, only issue is it's too warm at times and doesn't breathe...but thats why it has a zipper! I like being warm!!! | |

"Stylish, Fuctional, Loved by Demigods everywhere"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Overall, this jacket is great. The uber high collar threw me off at first until I grew into the badass confidence this jacket requires. There's not much in-between proudly wearing your jacket as a popped collar demigod keeping nature at bay, or folding the collar down and accepting that no one will ever like you. The athletic fit is almost perfect- for taller guys like me, the sleeves are plenty long, but the length of the jacket itself seems a little short. Not very noticeable though. Rain resistance is better than I was expecting and the Velcro cuffs are awesome. For the price I got this off of a price math last spring, I LOVe this jacket. Get it now. | |

"5 star jacket from Marmot"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Great jacket designed by Marmot and exceptional service from Moosejaw! After ordering my jacket online I received it in about 6 days using the free shipping. The gravity jacket has an excellent athletic fit, but engineered for movement, warmth, and comfort. I received loads of compliments on my jacket within in only a week or so of having it. Moosejaw made ordering my jacket easy, convenient, and cheaper than its competitors. I highly recommend the Marmot Gravity Jacket to anyone looking for a softshell that is exceptionally warm and breathable–great at resisting the wind and water. Five-star jacket without a doubt! Thanks Moosejaw. | |

Great midlayer or light softshell
| Rating: | ![]() |
I bought this jacket today, immediately before going skiing. Last time I wore a Marmot Driclime as my midlayer, I was getting cold. Today with the Gravity, I was toasty all day, from standing in line for a lift ticket until I stopped for the day. I stopped for dinner after my day of skiing, had a long walk to my car and was still warm. I love this jacket. Well-priced, fashionable (somewhat fitted, well-designed stitching, cool looking pockets, etc.), and most importantly very functional. It was at most 24 degrees F without wind chill factor today at the warmest...

Perfect Shell | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Great shell for skiing, hiking, camping or just bumming around town... This shell blocks the wind so surprisingly well it is shocking... I have worn it in conditions as bad as -9 degrees f with a windchill of -35 and the wind didn't touch my skin... If you need to layer, this is your shell... You could shed everything but your base and this and not be too hot... This jacket is great! | |

The clothes make the man.

| This jacket smells of cool, looks beyond trendy, and is way past technical. Fit is loose & snug at the same time. With the disappearing hand pockets, the uber chic sleeve pocket, this jacket wins. Velcro wrist, super water resistant, mock-turtle collar; combine this with a nice base layer or two and you rule. Oh, I forgot to mention the inside chest pocket for a brandy flask; but you all knew what that was for anyway. ;) XPHALCON | |

The Gravity jacket | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I have 2 other medium size Marmot softshells, the Sharp Point and the Super Hero. The Gravity is the most "heavyweight" of the 3 and really does have the best fit. Nice freedom of movement, nice pockets, zip up to the chin neckline, and velcro cuffs make this jacket an ABSOLUTE steal for the price (by comparison to the other 2). I would have gotten only the Gravity had I know all this prior. | |

Too big | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
Had to return this jacket. Nothing to do with the quality or anything like that...although I didn't get to test it out, it appeared plenty warm and weather resisitant for my needs. It was just too big for my standard medium body! Once This site has it back in stock in medium I will definitely consider buying it. Delivery was, as usual, prompt and problem free!

"Great quality but poor fit. At least for me."
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I really like Marmot clothes and have found their quality and performance to be generally excellent. I would expect nothing different with this jacket. The construction is high quality and I found the jacket to be extremely warm, especially considering how thin it is. It would be a great fall jacket by itself or under a hard shell. Unfortunately, the jacket did not fit me well. I am about 5' 8" and 200 pounds. I normally wear a large which is what I ordered here. I found the jacket to be much too tight around the waist. Also, the sleeves were much too long. If it fits you then I am jealous because I do think it would make an excellent jacket. | |
