Great coat!

First of all, I have no idea why they call this a "sweater", its a total misnomer. Its a winter coat. Period.
I've had this coat for a month now, in the bitter Minnesota winter, -26 low and below zero for much of the month, and it has performed very well, the part where the coat resides is always warm. The fit is great, there is no cold nylon where there shouldn't be, it's very lightweight, people like the look and everybody else doesn't have the same coat. The length in back is very nice, and the pullcords in the pockets are great for when the wind is blowing. This has been my favorite winter coat I've ever had and would highly reccomend it. Its a great value as well with the price I got from Rock/Creek, best I could find.

Extremely warm

This product was a gift for someone else. My concern was that this type of jacket would be too "puffy" and big. It, however, is not. It is super compact--meaning that it folds down and isn't hard to carry around when not in use, nor is it bulky while wearing it. The jacket was worn to a winter weather football game for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the comment was, "I never felt a thing weather-wise with this coat on". So, this jacket was perfect for extremely cold weather conditions while not too bulky to wear around comfortably.

Good, basic jacket

Bought this for hubby for Christmas and he is very happy with it. Fits well and it's very light. I have a Marmot and love it too. Mainly for casual use (watching hockey games, etc.) but he says one thing he loves is that it's really easy to pop on while he's in the car. I was concerned about sizing but the large ended up being perfect. He's 6' 1" 215 lbs w/a 44" chest.

Best Jacket

This is simply a great all around cold weather jacket! Excellent for skiing. I alternate it with 3 other down jackets that I have (these are my favorite type jacket) because they are LIGHT WEIGHT & WARM. The colors & materials are not ordinary, they are expensive looking, especially in the sun! My father got one too. He got the blue. Me, the green. They are NICE jackets!

Lightweight, very warm and stylish, good to wear in city too.

This jacket is very light weight. It is very warm and the cloth around the neck feels very good in winds. The size of this jacket is normal. Size S fits a 5'7" guy perfectly. Compared to other brand, Marmot is very good at this type of down jacket and this is one of their best product. Suitable to wear in city in winter too.

Great Down Coat

Marmot does it again! the coat is well made with high loft. Packs down to about the size of a nerf football with its own stuff sack. Great for throwing in the pack for early morning/evenings in camp. I bought the large and I am 6 ft and 160 lbs. and the coat allows for a layer or two underneath. Great price on this site!

Wow, Sweater? Whatever! It's a Jacket!

Great for very cold weather, but not freezing cold. I have a TNF Summit Series down jacket that is just plain over-kill! It was too warm to wear, except for freezing, below zero weather. This jacket is exceptional for cold to very cold weather. With layers, it extremely versitile. Great price too... Who cares about the color they way this feels!

Great all around winter jacket!

I bought this jacket thinking it would be a great asset towards my outdoor adventures, and it held up to the wind, rain, and cold. overall, i would recommend this to anyone who wants to be warm when the weather isn't.

I would buy this jacket again

It has been at least -26 or colder in January here in Fairbanks Alaska. This coat along with a light weight layer has keep me warm while out in the sub freezing cold. Would buy this jacket again.
Russ at Campmor on 01/01/2012

I like it!

I wear it when temperature is below 50F. It's warm and comfortable. I will give it five star rating if it comes with a hood. Overall, if you don't need a hood, I will highly recommend it.

Marmot part good part ok

I have the similar jacket from Patagonia and have tried on the Mountain Hardware Jacket also. Both the Pat and the MH fit much better than this jacket. It is high quality and a bit longer in the back than the others but it doesn't contour well to a slim body type. I bought the M and the S may have fit better but the other two brands look and fit much better.
