Exploring national parks or your local escapes - either way, be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws your way in Marmot's Moran Jacket. Windproof, water-resistant, and breathable, this jacket provides Marmot softshell protection with Polartec Windbloc performance - a combination that's ready for just about any cold-weather excursion. Specifications based on size Medium.
The Moran Jacket by Marmot is a Windbloc Softshell jacket that is highly versatile in its performance. The Moran is designed to protect you 100% from wind keeping your core warm, while providing heat without being bulky or cumbersome.
The Moran also has tons of mobility and stretch giving you total freedom of movement to climb, hike or just walking the dog on a blistery day.
The Moran's Polartec Windbloc has a polyerethane film membrane that allows internal moisture to be released to the outside of the jacket while keeping light rain and snow from coming inside. This enables you to stay drier and safer while out in the backcountry.
Zip into the Marmot Men's Moran Softshell Jacket and leave that trailhead in the dust. This highly breathable, water-resistant softshell provides do-anything versatility for changing weather conditions. Part of Marmot’s M softshell series, the Moran Jacket keeps you warm and dry in all but the nastiest conditions. The stretchy, nearly-windproof softshell provides an unrestricted fit thanks to Marmot's Angel-Wing Movement design, so your jacket doesn't crawl up every time you place a piece of protection or bend over to buckle your ski boots. This dynamic outer layer gives you plenty of room for light layering, and the internal security pocket keeps tabs on your keys, phone, and other small items while you make your way along the trail, down the slopes, or up the route.

Great Cold-weather Soft Shell
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I had no idea what to expect from this jacket when I picked it up, other than it was a great price and it was an M1 series softshell. I was looking for a cold weather softshell, and this jacket seems to be perfectly suited for that. I really like the Polartec Windbloc softshell fabric. It's windproof, highly water resistant, stretchy and soft. I had looked at the Marmot Sharp Point jacket, but felt the Windstopper fabric was too much like a shell. The cut is a bit generous in the torso, and a bit long in the length and sleeves, but since it's a cold weather jacket, it makes sense to leave room for layering underneath. It fits similar to other Marmot softshells, which seem to run big. Just don't expect a form-fitting, athletic cut. This is part of the Marmot M1 series softshells, and it feels like a heavier weight, warmer softshell for cold weather activities. The fleece backing isn't super thick, but the jacket seems to be pretty warm. As far as looks go, I think it looks great. The tempest blue is a great color combination. The collar is nice and thick, perfect for cutting out the wind. No obnoxious logos or extraneous zippers/pockets. Looks as good wearing around town as it does on the trail. Bottom line: this jacket's a great cold weather softshell, but may be a little heavy for high energy activities like running, biking, etc. | |

I love this jacket, when i have a hooded sweatshirt or sometype of insulation on underneath it. With a thin type interior, I stay outside with the wind at around 5-15 degrees F. That is if I am doing athletic activities, though. It is amazing against rain. I could stand out in the pouring rain, and only my collar got wet because the cinch cord around the neck couldn't cover my skinny neck. It is also o.k. against the wind. If it is blowing hard, you can feel the chill on the inside of the jacket. The nice fleecy liner is great, and I would recommend this jacket over the North Face Apex Bioncic anyday. The black jacket with red zippers is also rad. The only complaint I have is that there could be a weighted fleece on the inside, but I guess softshells aren't supposed to have that. This jacket does it's job straight up!!

This jacket is great. No pitzips, but still pretty breathable. Great for chilly days. Softshell so far is very durable, and the fit is perfect for me (always a medium, runs true). I'd buy at full price, instead of the killer SAC discount.

Super comfy jacket.Fits well I wear a medium and i'm 5'11" and weigh 155 pounds. It goes great by itself or a light layer fits well under it.It blocks wind pretty well and will keep you dry for the most part.
