Decent Snow/Ski Pants

I tried on a number of different snow pants from several manufacturers and tried these pants in both an L and XL. The L was good in the length, but I couldn't snap/zip them (I'm a 36" waist). The XL was good in the waist, but was long. Apparently the manufacturer makes an XL-Short, but they didn't stock that at the store and I needed them for the next day. The length wasn't an issue when I was skiing, but I worry about the bottoms when I'm wearing regular shoes.

Bottom line - they are a decent pant. Spend some time to make sure you get the right fit.

I used these pants for the first time this season and they worked well. They seem durable and well made. They are just a shell but with a layer or two underneath are plenty warm on cold days. I am 6'2" and 175 and I bought the large. I feel like they are on the baggy side and the waist is a little big for me. The built in tightening feature is nice and takes care of most of the slack. Overall, nice product and were on sale when I bought them so I feel it was a fair deal.

I bought these pants in a large for my brother and they were a bit too large (he would normally be a large). I would have given these pants a 5 start rating, but when we skied in Colorado in December in the mid-20's he thought these pants didn't keep him warm enough to be able to stand up to the cold that comes in real winter in the mountains. Otherwise he seemed to really like the pants.

These pants are awesome! THEY ARE A STEAL FOR THE PRICE!!! If you like shell pants, you'll love these!
They're not too baggy not too tight, just right where you want it for full range of motion.
They're comfortable, warm(if you have the baselayers) , and waterproof, what more could you want??
I'm 5'10 150 lbs and a medium fits perfect!
Overall these are a MUST BUY! 10/10 Great pants!

These fit me well. Most pants require that I wear a belt if i get them at my regular size. these were just right. A bit baggy but not too bad. I like a slimmer fit. they seem tough and I hope they are. I am going to be rough on them this season.

I work at Jackson Hole Mtn. Resort, & we use these. I would not recommend the Marmot jackets we use, but the pants are solid. The have the one cargo pocket on the left side. I would not pay full price for these, but you can't go wrong with half off & lifetime warranty.

solid shell

nice shell for snowboarding or skiing. little to no insulation so wear another layer. adjustable waist and secure snap give it a good fit. the pockets are a little hard to access but they do their job. i imagine in the spring i'll wish for some vent zips but for now its great.

This is a great pair of pants. I ordered two pair to see which would fit me best. This pair and the OR backbowl pants. I went with the other because they were longer and I needed that but this pair has no negatives. They were comfortable and looked great.

Great for Scooting!

Bought these as my nighttime job keeps me out and scooting home gets chilly. These match my Marmet jacket, and do a fantastic job of keeping my legs warm. The husband thanks REI for preventing my icicle legs from snuggling against him to warm up :)

Good pants, bad pockets

Great pants, keep me warm and dry on the wettest days on Mt Hood and the coldest days in Bend. The only con: The pocket seams are so tight its difficult to get your hands in them, making key retreval slightly more difficult. Waaaaahhh...

Negative Reviews:

Ripped the First Time I Wore Them

I bought these pants in the middle of January. They ripped the first time I wore them out (large gash along the shin). I sent them to Marmot assuming they were under warranty. (Their records show it was received February 6th.) It's now early March and the end of the season where I might have enjoyed them. Just got off the phone with Marmot. It'll be another week or two before they'll consider servicing the items. Who knows whether they'll be fixed!

So in short, I paid a lot for something I wore once that immediately tore. A total bummer.
