Mountain Gear

A 3-season bag for those who sleep cold, the Never Summer 0 degree down sleeping bag from Marmot provides a face muff that cinches up to keep out heat-robbing drafts and a heater pocket in the foot box let's you add some hot packets to warm up icy toes when you're sleeping on a 3/4 length pad.

Features:

  • 600-fill goose down has outstanding insulative properties for a great warmth to weight ratio and it compresses well
  • Heat bump draft tube eliminates cold spots and increases warmth along the zipper; zipper guards prevent draft tube fabric from catching in the zipper
  • Hood muff around the Nautilus 6-baffle hood creates a face gasket that keeps hood drawcords away and makes the face area Velcro free for added comfort
  • Includes a stuff sack and a storage sack
  • Nylon shell material is smooth yet durable and the silky polyester lining offers the highest level of comfort
  • Pack, stuff and pull the bag out without worry, the baffles are made from stretch tricot so they give instead of tearing

Great medium duty bag...

Rating:****
I have the older style Never Summer 0 degree, but nearly the same as the new style. It's not the lightest 0 degree bag out there, definitely not for the minimalist, but it's still a great bag. I've used it anywhere from Colorado to North Carolina to the Ukrainian/Romanian Carpathians in winter *(no lower than -8F) without ever getting too horribly cold; although I usually wrap my feet with my down jacket in really cold temps. The only downside I can see is that is soaks up condensation from tent walls if you roll into one during the night, and it takes some time to dry before repacking.

Excellent bag.

Rating:****
This is an excellent sleeping bag which I purchased in April 2003. It is warm down to around 0 degrees C. The longest trip I had used this bag was on a 7-day hike around the Wonderland Trail in Mt. Rainier National Park, with a fleece shirt I was comfortable sleeping in this bag even when the night temp approached freezing. Overall I'm very satisfied with this sleeping bag.

Good bag

Rating:****
I haven't used the bag in temperatures lower than 15, but at these temperatures I vented the feet. I got mine at a REI gear sale for[$], and the reason it was returned was it was "too warm!" In the balance between comfort and lightweight, this bag is designed more for comfort.

Comfort at -10F and 45 mph winds

Rating:*****
Used on Mt. Washington, NH outside the Harvard Hut with my 23 year old son in March using a 3 Season tent. We were both warm and had a great night's sleep and climbed the next morning well from being so rested even though the conditions outside were pretty severe.

Pretty good bag!!

Rating:****
Nice and warm, however bottom down gets very clumpy over night, may as well not be there, other than that pretty good bag!
