for my next trick

Rating:****
well, I am replacing gear that was stolen. my last tent was north face. I have been a sierra trading post customer since their beginning in Reno, nv. in the 70s. i have faith in them and their products. I used to live in Juneau Ak. and since "the adventurer"posted his/her ad and I most likely know them , I will have to trust their oppinion when I make my purchase. thanks sierra trading post for all the fun years you have helped me with. snowcat Mark from Reno/juneau See you all back at eaglecrest/auke bay in the spring

So far, so good... But we shall see.

Rating:****
Im giving the nutshell 4 stars because I have only had it out on a couple small weekend trips so far. The real test will be the extensive south america trip I will be taking it on at the end of august. So far I am very happy, this tent sets up like a dream, seems to be extremely sturdy, I love the seamless corners on the floor, not to mention- its like a feather. I look foward to many more adventures with my new Marmot nutshell.

Durable comfortable wind-rain proof

Rating:****
Overall good value at less than [$]. Marmot superior quality. Heavier material disqualifies this tent as an "ultra-light" inmho, however is durable and reliable. Kept me perfectly dry, warm in windy, rainy summer conditions at 9k ft. Dark floor drys quickly. Replaced the stakes w/MSR aluminum red squares. Over tightening the fly will bend the poles. Seamless floor. Large, easy entry door. IMHO the pole guides, sleeve will not fail as one user wrote. No worry, Marmot lifetime warranty.

Durable Little Tent

Rating:*****
I have had this tent for almost ten years without a single issue... Yes that's how good of a tent it is. I have used probably 100+ times in the last ten years in pretty much every condition and on every surface except snow and it still rocks. Only gripe is it's low profile doesn't give much head room and you better like your camping partner if you are going to share.

Easy set up and roomy too!

Rating:****
This tent was easy to set up and ease of entry into a roomy enough space. It is also ultra light which is a BIG plus! I yet to have it out on the open road but will be taking it to europe with me while I wander about seeing the sights and meeting other campers.

Excellent tent

Rating:****
I have owned this tent for 9 years. I have to admit that I am always briefly confused by which pole is which, but set up is easy after that. I have found it bomb proof. From a hot muggy hay field to pouring rain in the woods, it has kept me warm and dry.

took my seven year old son on a kayak(lake)camp trip, super easy to set up and take down, two of us fit with lots of room, could see it a little snug for two big guys, the wind howled all night tent did not even move!

Great tent; 1 person palace

Rating:*****
This is a great backpacking tent; easy to set up and nice and light. The poles are amazing; very light yet they seem to be exceptionaly strong.

I love this tent

Rating:*****
Most of my gear is tended towards weight savings, but this tent is a palace for 1 person....

Negative Reviews:

Wet Nutshell

Rating:*
This tent is a disaster. It took me ages to set up and when I learned it still took long time to adjust the straps in the corners. It was okay for camping on the beach in Spain where it hardly ever rains and I could see all the stars through the big door. Here in rainy Denmark the tent is worth NADA, nothing. It sucks. The extremely bad coated bottom leaves me as wet as if I slept in the rainforest. Do not get fooled by the fancy Marmot logo. This is a bad tent.

Keep Shopping

Rating:**
Three different sized poles, the longest has to pass through a sleeve, then the other two poles have to pass through the sleeve in these little holes that will no doubt rip over time. Keep on shopping, there are far better tents out there.

Neutral Reviews:

good tent for the price

Rating:***
The tent is easy to erect and fairly roomy for the weight. The really only complaint is that when one opens the fly over the vestibule during a rain the water comes in the tent. The design isn't quite right, where it zips open right over the entrance to the tent. Other than that, it is a good tent.
