An absolute perfect fit! Im buying more! |

| I am literally right at the boundary of small and medium. I wear a 31 inch size in regards to waist so depending on what company I buy from I can either be in the small camp or the medium camp. I really try and fit in a small as much as possible as the mediums wind up being a bit large and that makes perfect sense considering most are designed to fit people up to 33-34 inch waist. I figured I would take my chance with the Marmot Scree pants as I have heard great things about them. When I received my package I was prepared for them to be too big, possible big enough to have to return them. I was absolutely shocked to find out they fit me like a glove. I got the Medium/short version. Not only did they fit perfect in the waist, the legs were also an absolute perfect fit and that is actually very rare for me as I have somewhat skinny legs. Most pants wind up being a little baggy because of that fact. Well not these pants. In all honesty this may be the best fit I have found yet, at least since I moved up to a 31 inch waist size. On top of fitting me absolutely perfect they are also extremely comfortable. I tried them on with just boxers on and they were extremely comfortable against my skin. I will most likely be wearing a base layer when wearing these but its a testament to how comfortable they are that I can comfortably wear them with nothing but boxers. They also have a perfect thickness, not to thick so as to restrict movement and not to thin so they dont feel cheap. I really just started buying Marmot gear earlier last year. I always knew they existed however I have always been a Patagonia/Outdoor Research guy when it came to outdoor clothing. Well I have since purchased quite a few Marmot pieces now and I can safely say that Marmot is on an equal level to both Patagonia and OR. This was my first pair of winter pants from Marmot and given how happy I am with them, Well lets just say they will most certainly not be my last. In fact I am buying 2 more pairs of the Scree Pants right now. I really cant possibly give these pants a higher recommendation. Buy a pair before they are gone! |

| I just returned from a 3 day excursion with my friends. We were at Bear Mountain & Harriman State Parks where we backpacked exclusively. I started out in a pair of OR pants that I picked up at Campmor earlier this year. They were fine while the weather was warm but when a cold front came through with high winds and much cooler temps they were history. I broke out my Marmot Scree pants and was the envy of my friends. These pants ARE what most people, who venture out beyond Summer, truly need. They allow you to wear your own belt, they move with you like a great pair of gloves and they have just enough moxy to keep you feeling comfortable when the weather turns cool. I did not sweat in these while ascending or descending nor did they rub me the wrong way under my Gregory Z65 hipbelt. For the Ultralight backpacking purist these pants will be a little too heavy. But, for the person who wants comfort and performance these work great. I am over 50 and will not sacrifice on comfort. I can honestly say that my friends who are also over 50 were ready to call STP when they got home just so they could get a pair for themselves. Like me, some read these comments and think someone from the company is posing here and trying to push their wares. I own my home improvement business in Montclair, NJ and was a former Special Forces chaplain of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Please know that this is a genuine review and you won't go wrong if you make this purchase. Enjoy the outdoors--Hooah! |

Awesome Pants--No Bull |

| I spent 16 years in the Army (most in Special Forces/Special Ops) and 35+ years camping/backpacking. These are one of the best pairs of pants I have ever owned. I've worn them around the house, while car camping outside of Cape May, NJ and will hit the trail with them backpacking on the A.T. (Bear Mountain then North to CT) next week. They will be my first and only choice. I categorize these pants for activities during weather in the late Summer/early Autumn or Spring timeframes. You can always layer these with a lightweight baselayer or under rain gear. As I write this review I'm considering ordering another pair. STP is my favorite place to shop--and these pants are another reason why it is. |

| Not what I wanted. I wanted lightly insulated pants to wear biking in cold weather. These were a shell with no insulating qualities. I purchased an M3 jacket last year that had a bonded insulation and I hoped the pants would be the same. They fit well and were very comfortable when worn alone but since they were not insulated I need to wear an insulating base layer. This makes the pants too snug. |

| I bought these pants on spec to replace a variety of black diamond, patagonia & ibex trousers and i could not be more pleased. So far I have mostly worn them in cool, windy, alpine climbing conditions and found them superior in fit, wind resistance, feel and function to all of the above named products. I am looking very forward to putting them to work as ski pants. |

| Okay readers, I just bought my second pair. I wore these while constructing a deck last week when the weather was "extremely" windy and cold. They were just as good on the jobsite as they were on the trail. Want to enjoy your time outdoors more this Autumn? Buy these and you will! |

Perfect snowsport pants |

| Will use them for XC skiing, but haven't had a chance to play in the snow with them yet. They seem to be extremely well made and confortable. Fabric appears to be pretty water resistant with the kitchen sink test. Very satisfied with my purchase. Marmot makes great gear, this is another example. |
