Great jacket for the money
I bought this jacket for my girlfriend who is always backpacking and camping. She also needed something that looked good enough to wear out. The styling of the jacket is great, and so is the performance for the money. I found this on clearance for [$], so it was a great find. The waterproof zippers and double front zipper work amazingly well. The jacket also keeps the wind at bay. It is not very warm but if you layer it with a sweater then you have warmth, wind resistance, and water resistance. I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for something that looks nice and performs well for the weekend warrior.
MY NEW FAV
Bought this for upcoming snowshoeing in the Alps. Have tried it out hiking through a blizzard in the UP and it was warm and dry (single digit temps and 20-30 mph winds). The hood has a very good bungie cord on it that keeps in on even in high winds. Great pocket locations for plane travel, too. I bought an XL for effective layering and it's great. I also really like the interior snow skirt thingy. This is my new favorite winter gear!
Excellent technical shell
I have used this shell for both nordic and downhill skiing and it was great. I went in high winds in -30C and it did a great job blocking out the wind. I also skied in warmer weather and the core zips kept me cool. Since it is a shell, you have 100% control over layering and warmth, which makes it a great option for skiing in any weather. This jacket is versatile and well-made.
Nice jacket, runs large in size
Very well made and nice looking jacket. It has a zipper for attaching a liner jacket but the zipper teeth are very large and none of my jackets have similar zippers. They should either skip the extra zipper (it just gets in the way) or provide a liner jacket when you buy it. Also, it would be nice if there was an upper right pocket on the outside.
Versatile
Wore it on a windy, chilly wet day. Very comfortable and did the job. I found the medium size fit but wouldn't have been able to layer underneath, so I exchanged it for a large. It wasn't that much bigger. The length and sleeves were longer, the chest room was better but not so roomy. Loved the purple color.
Perfect Jacket!
I love this jacket; this is my third tamarack! The styling is great, it's durable and for the price can't be beat!
True to size
Fits well I have broad shoulders and there is ample room to move. Underarm zippers are a plus for venting
