ABOUT MARMOT

In April 1971, University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in Alaska on the Juneau Icefields on a school project in Glaciology. It was here on the glacier, amongst these students, that the idea of a Marmot club began. To become a Marmot, you had to climb a glaciated peak with another Marmot. One of the rules of the club was that everyone was president. Most of the other rules dealt with the collegiate fascination with bodily functions.

Eric and Dave went on to found Marmot Mountain Works in 1974, and through the years the company made lots of innovations in down jackets, sleeping bags, Gore-Tex apparel, and beyond. Their modest enterprise is now one of the largest and most respected outdoor gear companies in the world, distributed in over 60 countries, and it is still all about the highest-quality, innovative performance products.

Great bag!

I used this sleeping bag for a recent camping trip to Patagonia, Chile. Inside the tent it was 43 degrees F. I wore silk long johns and slept in a polyester liner and this bag. (Also had a thermal pad.) I was warm enough.

I put my day clothes inside the stuff sack (inside out) and used it as a pillow. Perfect!

The bag packs up to the size of my husband's North Face Cat's Meow, which was almost twice as expensive. My bag weighs more though.

My Patagonia guide had experience with all brands from around the world. He wore a lot of Marmot stuff. He said the brand was the best balance for quality and money.

I like this bag. I picked it out. My dad bought it for me as a birthday gift.

Note: The color is a brighter blue than appears in the picture. Also, the zippers are bright pink.

This is a GREAT bag. I use any excuse to sleep in it. It's really comfy. Zips up so far you could just have your nose and mouth poking out. And zips down on both sides if you don't want to feel trapped in it ;) I love that on warm nights I can just unzip at the bottom letting some air in for my feet or to poke a foot out. And the stash pocket is the perfect place for my phone or electronics to be accessed easily and quickly. It's also pretty light and compact for a 15 degree bag at this price and fits nicely in my backpack. Highly recommended for any lady wanting to be comfy and warm in the wild!

Super Toasty!!

I bought this sleeping bag so that I could have one to fit into my backback for backpacking. I was nervous when I received the sleeping bag in a pretty large box but when I compressed the sleeping bag down using the stuff sack, I was very impressed! It fit perfectly at the bottom of my backpack and left plenty of room for my other stuff that I needed to pack. I am still waiting to try sleeping in a hammock with it but using this sleeping bag in a tent was very toasty. I actually had to unzip the upper portion of my bag because I was so warm! So far I have no complaints about this bag. I love it!

I am 5'6" and this bag fits perfectly. I just received it and am impressed by the excellent fit, the quality zippers, and the color. I am happy to report that the zipper and the Marmot logo are in a deep fuchsia color that compliments the two shades of blue on the bag very nicely. There is enough room in the bag to move around a bit, so it does not incite feelings of claustrophobia like some bags can. I am very impressed, and will leave additional info once I have put it to more use!

For the price of this bag, it's pretty good. I've always been a cold sleeper and have only been cold in this bag a few times, mostly during the late fall or early spring. I got it partly to zip together with my boyfriend's Trestles which is a great way to use it. However, the zipper on the women's bag is shorter than the men's, which is a pain when you're trying to get them apart to re-pack them. That's my only complaint; I'd recommend this bag.

Great for a woman

This bag is warm right from the start. It's plenty roomy enough for my 5'6" frame. There's enough foot room so that I can put the next day's clothes in the bottom and keep them warm so they are toasty in the AM. Very roomy, but warm, too. Used it in 30 degree weather twice and I wasn't too hot. Love the dual zippers. I look forward to getting into the bag after a long outdoor day with exuberant Boy Scouts! And I also love the color!

Awesome sleeping bag

I bought this bag for my 12 yr old daughter. She loves to go on overnight school camping trips throughout the year. She absolutely loves her new bag. She says it is very comfortable, and keeps her plenty warm without having to wear extra layers. She loves the inside stash pocket too. She also enjoys the lightweight bag, and the easy assembly of stuffing the bag back into it's carrying case.

After a year of trial my wife is really happy with her bag. It worked well in the summer with the extra 1/2 side zip open and through the fall it's kept her warm even when damp... We'll use it down into the 30s but she likes to sleep warm so layers up well at those temps

Regulates body temperature very well - perfect for a fall trip w/ nights in the 50s and lower. I am 5'8" and got the women's left zip/long so that it can mate with my boyfriend's bag. Backcountry's price was the best around - shipped very quickly, too!

Good Price

This product would be best if it didn't absorb moisture in humidity and rainy weather.
