Good, warm coat

I've had it for a few weeks. No complaints. I usually get large, because I'm tall with an athletic build. In most brands, I'm a large in sleeve length and a medium in body. So, I usually get a large and just deal with a coat that's too big in the body. This one, however has rather long sleeves compared to other coats I've tried on, maybe because it is higher up in price? The medium fits perfectly. So, if you have the same issue that I have, this coat should be a good fit for you.

This is a great jacket

I've had this jacket a few winters now. I love the cut and fill ratio for the weight of the garment. I use it as a belay jacket for ice climbing when temps aren't brutal. I stow it away in the pack when backcountry touring as a lunch stop jacket and when on blustery summits. It fits athletic for this type of jacket--not too bulky but not too snug--but I'm a slender build at 5'8" and 145lbs--I wear the small and like the fit.

Great Jacket

Bought this for my 17-year old son. He loves the jacket as it is warm and water-proof and wind resistant. It looks great and is very functional. He's been wearing it now for the last few weeks as an all-around jacket. Our temps have been below zero and windchills of -20F. He hasn't complained about the jacket and seems happy with it.

its warm lightweight and high quality

Just got it and has kept me warm on cold mornings. I love the fit and how lightweight it is. Plan on using it for skiing and winter camping. The insulated hood is a great plus as well.

Like wearing a comfy sleeping bag

This jacket is perfect for watching outdoor sports or participating in them. Just don't expect anything to rugged. The zipper catches easily on the fabric inside the jacket, so be careful.

Not that great...

I ordered this jacket based on the description and cool photo. I should have done some homework. Bottom line - this coat is fine, not great. First, the zipper kept getting stuck in the fabric. Bummer right there from the first zip! Next, the jacket itself feels flimsy. The material is certainly not the same as a "softshell" jacket. This material is thin and light. The jacket itself is a bit on the "puffy" side. And the Marmot logo feels like iron-on letters. All of my other jackets have the Marmot name embroidered, this felt like the logo would start peeling off!!So, truth be told, I returned this jacket and STILL need a new coat. I think I'll try the North Face Plasma......

not really what I expected

I ordered this jacket based on the description and the kind of cool photo. I should have done some homework first. Bottom line - this coat is fine, but not great. First, the zipper kept getting stuck in the fabric. Bummer right from the first zip! Next, the jacket itself feels flimsy. The material is not a "softshell" jacket, which I would have preferred. This material is thin and light. The jacket itself is a bit on the "puffy" side. And the Marmot logo feels like iron-on letters. All of my other jackets have the Marmot name embroidered, this felt like the logo would start peeling off after a wash! So, I returned this jacket and STILL need a new coat. Suggestions.
