Great All-Around Winter Moc

Rating:****

Let's start off with the same thing I said in my other reviews of the Slip-on Snow Clogs in this class.

I have owned several different Snow Clogs. Mostly because I could never find exactly one that fit my criteria. I was looking for something that was causal, warm, waterproof and a slip-on. I live in Chicago and as of the last two years the winter weather has gotten colder and we are getting more snow than ever. I need to find a Clog that would work good in the snow, keep my feet dry and warm enough for the zero degree days and the last criteria was to be able to wear during the day in the office with a pair of Khaki pants. So big boots were out!

I currently have 3 pairs of different slip-on winter mocs, Keen Whistlers, Merrell Shiver Moc, and these Salomon Snowclogs. They are all Waterproof, insulated, have snow traction Soles, and of course a slip-on style...I love slip-ons.

The Merrell Shiver Moc are a great slip-on...a little tougher to get on (Slip-on) than the Keen Whistler...which was the easiest by far. They are narrower than the Whistler as well...Keen seems to make a wider shoe than everyone else. The Shiver Moc is made well...something I have come to expect from Merrell. They are warmer then both the Salomon Snowclog (not the Snowclog 3...that is warmer than these three) and the whsitler. They are the warmest of the three...the polartec makes them wearable to the zeros but dont expect much more. Snow traction is pretty close to the whistler (Whistler is better) but not anywhere near the Salomon Snow Clog. Style wise...which is mostly subjective, these work better in the office than the Snowclogs but not as sole low-profile friendly as the whistler. Making the whistler the choice in the Office. Of the three Slip-on I have, these are my 2nd place pick. You can never go wrong with Merrell!

Simple Comfort

Rating:*****

This is my second pair. The Shiver Moc will keep your feet warm and dry in the winter. Perfect for slipping on to shovel the fresh few inches of powder off the driveway and a nice retirement for your tired feet after a brutal day on the slopes. They are extremely comfortable and are ideal for stroll in the park or a gentle hike in the canyons. The Shiver takes the comfort of a slipper and puts it in a versatile shoe that can take you most anywhere you need to go.

Warm and comfortable

Rating:*****
My 2nd pair of Merrell Mocs, my 1st pair lasted 4 years before sole wore out but the outside looked new. These new ones are even warmer than my 1st pair, easy to slip on and perfect for the cold winter mornings including walking on snow and ice. Great after a long day in ski boots .

I've had these bad boys for 3 years this fall. They do not disappoint. Perfect for casual use even in the occasionally crazy Minnesota weather. To be honest, they look great too. I've worm them to a few of my schools dances, and trudged through the snow on my way home without a problem!

Love the upgraded Jungle Mocs

Rating:*****
Love these shoes. They are perfect as a warm everyday winter shoe. I have had a couple of pairs of Jungle Mocs, but the soles always wear out. Glad that they made a version with Vibram soles. The best thing is having an everyday slip on shoe that has some real traction.

An Awesome Shoe At An Awesome Price

Rating:*****
I planned a trip to the Georgian Bay in Canada and knew I'd need a comfortable shoe for hiking. These Mocs were awesome! No breaking in required at all. I was able to hike in comfort and the grip was fantastic. At this price I feel like a thief... almost ;-)

Awesome shoe!

Rating:*****

I just gave these to my husband today (Christmas). He LOVES them even more than his winter mocs, which these are replacing. They are a tough and rugged shoe and by the looks of the soles on these bad boys, will last even longer than his first pair!

Feet Pillows

Rating:*****

I love these shoes, especially after a long day on the slopes, don't even need top bend over to tie them. They are super comfortable and very warm. I pretty much wear them everyday in the winter. This is my second pair

I Have a number of Merrell shoes, have always liked their fit. I purchased these for my son for a Christmas present. They are a replacement for his well worn Shivers, which are his favorite shoe. Quality, Comfort and Support Thats Merrell!

My husband loves these.

We bought these for my husband on vacation and he wears them all the time. Our daughter has a pair and has always said how comfortable hers were. He loves them--and they look good on.

NOT INSULATED!!! Sorry for caps, but before you buy beware! I bought these to go to Detroit for Christmas. I ran into REI right before I left and they said these should be good. Argh!!! My toes were so [*] cold. This was while wearing mountaineering wool socks. The weather was never below 20 degrees and yet I was still frozen. I was also standing for 40 minutes waiting for a friend to show up and realized these are not comfortable for that either. For just a casual shoe, running errands, traipsing through light snow to get the paper, etc. they were fine. But the lack of insulation put a real damper on things. REI recommends the Salomon version of these which are insulated and which I will be trading in for tomorrow. I'll review those to compare.
