Merrell Sonic Glove Reviews:

Reviews:

These are my second pair of Merrell “gloves.” I got them to have an alternate as my 8-month-old Trail Gloves are starting to wear out. Overall, I think I will love these as much as my Trail Gloves, but I’ve been surprised by a couple of things.
1. They stretch and change shape significantly with time. Out of the box they seemed much narrower than my Trail Gloves, but they have been stretching out.
2. The sole becomes much more flexible with wear. Again, I was shocked at how stiff the new sole was compared to my well-worn Trail Gloves, but it has been softening up.
Finally, I was also hoping they would be more breathable than the Trail Glove, but this doesn’t seem to be the case. From a practical perspective, I don’t think they are very similar to the trail glove.

Bad Ass Shoes!!!

I absolutely love these shoes! They are so light and they fit your foot like a sock. I also have a pair of fivefingers but I like these more as they draw less attention but still push me to run and walk ball of my foot. I have noticed that these are chilly on cold winter days here in the NW but also hot on summer days. However, I love these and will continue buying them in the future. I also love the fact that you are connected to the ground, when you step on a rock you will feel it there although it does not hurt. Also walking through the grass or mud you feel the texture more than in a conventional shoe.

Excellent Barefoot shoe, but I prefer the Merrell Trail Glove

I tried on several brands of barefoot closed toe shoes and the Merrell shoes fit the most like a glove and were the most comfortable and natural. I compared these Merrell Sonics to the Merrell Trail Glove and I preferred the Trails because the mesh material in those shoes is more flexible and comfortable than the fabric in the Sonics. The Sonics have a more traditional shoe fabric that will keep out more water and debris than the mesh of the Trail gloves, but I would prefer the Trails for running because they feel softer. The Sonics are more beautiful though! Finally, I love these shoes because they bring many of the benefits of the VFF's without looking like a dork!

Hiked Kilimanjaro

I wore these shoes rather reticently to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro's 'Whiskey Route'. I don't have ankle problems, so that wasn't a big deal for me. I was really surprised about how incredible they were. I wore these shoes for 6 days straight and loved how comfortable they were. The only issue I had was once we reached summit, my feet were frozen, and I was wearing two pairs on wool socks. I have also been hiking in Tennessee and also Italy with these, and I just can't say enough about how awesome they are. Definitely recommend.

Awesome shoes wether out for a run or day to day use!

This is my first pair of barefoot shoes, I choose these over the multiple toe kind for the fact that I feel that they give you more protection. I can say that they are super light and comfortable. I have received several comments on the appearance of them which I like. I better buy some more of these because I do not think I will be wearing any other kind of shoe for a while, we will have to see how cold I get in winter lol.

Great Barefoot Shoe.

I use these mostly for walking on pavement on running in the gym. Great quality and trend is tremendous. I really enjoy these. My only problem is the air flow or lack there of. These shoes make my feet sweat really bad, and the are so snug I can not were socks. However, you can wash these so the shoes can get the odor out. Besides the minor odor and sweat problem, these are great.

Great running feel, sweaty feet!

I love Merrel's barefoot shoes. These however, are made of a sort-of soft shell style material that is meant to keep your feet warm and dry in the cold/wet. However, I personally would rather have feet wet with rain that drenched in sweat. Don't get me wrong, I still use them everyday I just have this particular gripe. If your feet tend to sweat go with a different model of Merrell's.

I use these to help strengthen my minor muscles to aid me in long distance running. They really help you learn to run with better posture and less injury once you are able to get past the leanring curve of runnign in minimalist shoes....patience in your progress by starting with small runs and walking around town in them. Your form will change....and then you will change.

Functional light weight shoes

Great shoes for running and getting around in. Take care to follow the lead into running instructions before strapping them on and heading out for a jog. I wear mine all the time, I enjoy the feel of walking in them with minimal shoe around my feet.
There was a stuff up with my order and Mountain Gear posted me a new pair immediately. Great service.
Charley at Mountain Gear on 12/12/2011

Eventually I want to get more into the barefoot running, but for now these will help my feet adapt to the new feelings. Super comfy!!!
