These are my second pair of Merrell gloves. I got them to have an alternate as my 8-month-old Trail Gloves are starting to wear out. Overall, I think I will love these as much as my Trail Gloves, but Ive been surprised by a couple of things.
1. They stretch and change shape significantly with time. Out of the box they seemed much narrower than my Trail Gloves, but they have been stretching out.
2. The sole becomes much more flexible with wear. Again, I was shocked at how stiff the new sole was compared to my well-worn Trail Gloves, but it has been softening up.
Finally, I was also hoping they would be more breathable than the Trail Glove, but this doesnt seem to be the case. From a practical perspective, I dont think they are very similar to the trail glove.
I use these to help strengthen my minor muscles to aid me in long distance running. They really help you learn to run with better posture and less injury once you are able to get past the leanring curve of runnign in minimalist shoes....patience in your progress by starting with small runs and walking around town in them. Your form will change....and then you will change.
Eventually I want to get more into the barefoot running, but for now these will help my feet adapt to the new feelings. Super comfy!!!
