The Chicago Bears made Jackson State running back Walter Payton their number one pick in the 1975 draft. Payton rushed for 679 yards during his rookie campaign. During his thirteen year career Payton rushed for 16,726 yards, and helped lead the Bears to a Super Bowl title during the 1985 season.
