While you might prefer granite to limestone or boulders to cliffs, the Montrail Smythers Climbing Shoe loves it all. The chiseled toe fits nicely into those cracks, and the full-length flexible midsole works miracles on those sliver-thin edges. Montrail constructed the shoe with a full slingshot rand for pressure distribution and increased toe power. Gryptonite HT rubber’s exceptional smear helps you gain purchase during those tough redpoints. This versatile shoe features thermo-moldable foam in the toe and heel for a glove-like fit.

"This shoe works"

Rating:*****
I bought this shoe last year and through and error with my internet I actually got two pairs . At first I was pissed because I was negative 200 dollars. After I tried them on however my distress was instantly relieved. These shoes fit like a glove especially with montrails parfam foam on the inside. I wear a size 9.5 shoes and I got these in a size 42 adn they fit wonderfully. The rubber also stands up really well. I will have to say it will get eaten up in a gym but I took them out to Indian Creek and I was able to climb all day with any discomfort. They are also very easy to get in and out of once they have molded to your foot.

These shoes rock!... climb!

Rating:****
These are great shoes. They are my first pair, but I shopped around for a long time to find a good all around shoe and for a great price and these fit just that. I went one size smaller than normal and they fit like a glove, I couldn't go any smaller. They are pretty stiff at first but once you get warmed up in them they are great! I couldn't ask for a better shoe at this point for me. They rock!

"Good shoe for the $$"

Rating:****
I was a little skeptical to try montrail's climbing shoes, but gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. Good construction, the design is a little girly, but not a bad shoe. The toes blew out in probably half a year of somewhat consistent climbing.

Comfy climbers

Wonderful shoes with the thermo molded footbed. One of the most comfortable shoes i've worn. true to size and won't really get any bigger.
