Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Hooded Jacket X-Large Blue Horizon

I brought this as lightweight replacement for my fleece sweater in the ozzie alps. So far it has been awesome.. the more I exercise the warmer it gets.

OBSERVATIONS:
It's not windproof but it takes a very strong wind for me to feel it through the jacket. The nitrous has a light facefabric, which means I'll have to be careful with it, but its so comfortable to wear that i dont care! The hood is magic, as it comes high enough that I now dont need to wear a scarf. The hood is close fitting, and I could wear a helmet over it quite easily.

FIT:
Im 5.11 180 pounds, and I got the large. This is reasonably snug fitting in the torso, but it nearly covers my bum in length which is awesome. There is no strain in the arms at all when I reach up, and the jacket still cover my wrists. I have a +5 ape index, so those in the negatives will find this jacket long armed :)
As a climber it fits my needs beautifully as a belay jacket, emergency climbing jacket but also a super lightweight jacket when hiking around in the snow.

BOSS ISSUES (or lack of):

My wife loves the look of this jacket, and is comtemplating getting one for herself now that she sees down jackets don't have to make her look like a michelin man.

All in all, I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a very light weight jacket for emergencies, casual walking, or hardcore use if they have a shell long enough to protect it from the elements. T
This Jacket does not come with a cover or a bag to pack into, so youll have to buy one if thats how you wish to store it. (Ill be getting a waterproof bag to store it in as a protective measure when outdoors)

I've only had the opportunity to wear this a few times outside at work with temps around 15 and windchills around 0 but it performed perfectly. Though it isn't listed as being windproof it seems to be windproof to me. It's VERY breathable keeping warm in well below freezing temps but yet I can keep in on in the house for hours and not feel the slightest bit uncomfortable (I left it on just to see). The hood is fitted very nicely but I would like to have a draw cord as the hood doesn't move with my head when I turn from side to side. The fit is perfect on me (size med, 5'11" 165lbs) but to some they might feel it's a little tight at the shoulders. I can't wait to use it on my first cold weather backpacking trip this January.

The jacket is very good. Had a lot of compliments about it (I have red one).I like everything about it, except one. I don't know if this is you should expect to happen but sometimes the down comes out through the shell and I have to remove it (may be two pieces per week). It's perfect for cold conditions, when it's not really windy.
