It's always a bit of a crap shoot to order clothes online. I decided these were the pants I wanted, and ordered them despite that the size I really wanted wasn't available (having consulted the size guide). I ended up with pants a size or two too big, but I wear 'em and love 'em anyway. Great as pants and just as great as shorts (I really like the length - not too short, and better, not too long). I don't care for the extra material on the waist liner, and will probably take a pair of scissors to get rid of it. Otherwise, I'm gonna get my sewing machine out and sew on something to take up a bit of room around the waist (since it's one or two sizes too big) and they'll be my favorite pair of pants! Super great for heavy brush and comfy for climbing.

Love the syle, fit and the fabric! Definitely a 10 in my book

| This was my first purchase of Mountain Hardwear convertible pants and I'm very impressed with the quality and style. I haven't worn them yet so they're not field tested but for style, comfort and durability I don't think I could have chosen a better pant. I love the fact that even though I ordered the short length, they are not "high water pants!" Even though I'm only 5'1" I hate to wear pants that are up to my ankles because the manufacturer believes that "petite" means that every length should be 28". The only drawback I see with this style is that there are no belt loops which would be make the waist so much more adjustable; even if they used one of those web type belts that other styles have, it would be a help. I would definitely recommend this pant! | |

Overall Great Pants | |

| The material for these pants is very hardy. The "just below the waist" fit is very comfortable. It might be better if it had a drawstring at the waist (I've found myself hoisting them up a couple of times). The extra room in the knees is useful. Also, the zippers work well and easily. It is very easy to zip the legs on and off. The shorts are a good length. The only other thing that would make these pants perfect would be deeper pockets. Overall, for the price these are great pants and I would buy them again. | |

Great pant | |

I got these pants over a year ago, and they are my favorite. Love how easy they are to transition from pants to shorts. Super comfortable for an active person like myself and I think they look good on. I got a size 6 short - I'm 5'3" and about 120. Mountain Hardware really got it right with the material; they are a perfect mix of so you're not so hot, but substantial enough to not be too chilly when it's cold out. The price may seem high, but they'll hold up well in the wash and LAST.

"awesome pants!" | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| These pants are excellent! The fabric is thick enough to resist quick wear and tear while still keeping you cool. However, the waist was a bit too big. I have a small waist and wider hips, so I had to sew in a small strip of elastic in the back so my pack didn't push them halfway down my bum. I love the extra strap on the left hip. It's great to clip extras onto for quick access. | |

Excelent Pants | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I have worn these pants day after day from everyday use to hiking Isle Royale and braving the blackflies and mosquitoes. They are super comfortable with perfect waistline that sits right on your hips. Not for someone with a larger waist but comfortably fits a rounder bottom. Biting flies don't seem to bite through the material. The lightweight material is perfect for summer but not so much for bushwacking. love them and will invest in another pair! | |

Great Pants! | |

Run a little big to size but I haven't found any hiking brands that are accurate! I wear them as shorts for the most part because at 5'4 they are a tiny bit too long. They are OK if I cinch them around my boots though. I also run in them and they don't creep up atall. Other than that they sit low on the waist for a flattering rear view!

Great brand at great price

| The rise sits just below the belly button on me, so not sure how it will work with a backpack. I wore day hiking and these pants worked very well. The thigh zip pocket is a little low for practical use. I have not quite figured out the elastic cord at the bottom hem. No toggles to keep them secured when tightened. Overall great quality and fit. | |

Great fit! | |

| I'm 5'3 about 123 lbs. so the size 10 short fits really well. I really appreciate the Short option for the inseam. Very comfortable fabric and great features. I haven't field tested them yet, but I can't wait to wear them on my Sierra adventures this summer! I always find that the quality of Mountain Hardware is "top shelf". | |

Mountain Hardwear Corsica Convertible Pant - Women's
| Rating: | ![]() |
I wear the Mountain Hardwear Corsica Convertible Pant as shorts most often, but the pants are great for backpacking or for climbing in the spring and fall. The material is very durable, and the rise is a little lower than a normal regular rise. I found these to fit true to size: 5'2", 113 = size 4

Terrible fit | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The description fails to mention the low-slung waist. Do we really need low-slung waistlines out on a mountainside?! The size difference between the hip and the waist line is terrible. It is designed for someone with a large spare tire--waist much larger than hips. Did they look at the figure of a woman before these went to the manufacturer? A huge let down. | |

Poor fit, low slung | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I looked forward to these with high expectations since my husband has the male version and is on his second pair. My normal size is 6 and these fit tooooo tight. They were also so low slung there was no way I could comfortably hike all day in them. | |

"Need a drawstring waist or belt loops,"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I had to send these back to get a size 4, as the size 6 fits too large. I also ordered item # 678297 in a size 6, and they fit perfect. So I assume these run a tad big, which would be okay if they had a drawstring waist or belt loops... other than that - they looked great on, felt very nice! I'm hoping the smaller size will be what I need and I won't have them falling down as I climb about. I just ordered them today... I'll let you know! I tend to get smaller as the day goes on and I don't like trying to climb with my pants falling off - go figure. | |

Like the low rise but not the ghetto butt
| Rating: | ![]() |
These pants have some great features. I really like the low rise and flat seams so there are no rubbing hot spots under the hip belt of my backpack. I also like that you can get into the pockets without taking the pack off.

No belt! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I wore these canyoneering. While the material is much more rugged than other pants (TNF) and held up, there are 2 serious design flaws. There is no belt or belt loops. So they are not comfortable with a heavily loaded pack and you can't tighten a belt to keep your shirt tucked in, the red ants out of your crack, and the poison oak off your back. There are no cargo pockets to carry snacks, knife, etc. Just one cheesy pocket with a flimsy zipper. Great for travel wear. They look really good. | |

Not for me | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I love Mountain Hardware clothes and have several other pairs of their pants. I liked the price and style on these. But when I got them, the waist is very short. They hit me about 4" below my natural waist. There were no belt loops or way to tighten the waist, either. The pants would have been great, but I was very concerned about them falling down and riding so low, so I returned them. | |

Big in waist, maybe could fit down a size
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I agree with the other review. It would have been nice to have an adjustable waist or belt loops, both are not an option. I'd go down a size in these pants. Roomy loose fit at my usual size and way too big through the waist. I should have read the review here first. Otherwise pants seem good quality, I like the style. | |

seem like great pants, poor fit
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Pants fit funny. Right size in the waist, but VERY tight in the legs and butt (and my friends joke about my lack of a butt) and will have to be returned. That being said...I think I'm going to order a size larger and see what happens. | |
| PlantNerd at Sierra Trading Post on 06/14/2009 | |
Nice feel, no belt | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I found that the pants fit great in the hips, but big in the waist. There are no belt loops or inner draw strings to allow any adjustment of the waist. I am sending them back for a smaller size. | |

| Great style, but large in the waist. Ordered 8-short but a snug for active wear -- reordered 10-short but waist and hip large. I'm 5'4 and 125 lbs so I'm returning. | |

| Much too large and long for me. Also, very heavy fabric. Would be great for a very tall person in cold weather, but then why zip off to shorts. | |

Cute, but these run large

These were adorable, but run a little large. Also when worn as shorts, they're not quite as flattering. So I ended up returning these.
