Mountain Hardwear's Dome Perignon remains one of top selling hats in the industry, which probably explains why the only changes made to this vintage were the hues in the color spectrum. Unlike the hordes of fleece caps available today, the Dome offers windproof protection in the form of WINDSTOPPER® fleece. The hat features two insulating layers--the outer layer is comprised of super toasty Polartec® BiPolar 200 weight fleece, while the internal layer is made of WINDSTOPPER® fleece. A stretchy insert in the back of the headband provides a snug fit that won't leave you feeling like you've permanently elongated the skin across your forehead. Buy now. Don't cellar.

Great cold-weather hat!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The Dome Perignon hat from Mountain Hardwear, combining Polartec fleece and Gore Windstopper material, is an outstanding cold-weather hat. Its stretch fleece back panel (stretchy on the back 20% of the ear band--the part of the ear band at the back of the head) and its availability in three sizes--S, M, and L (Do take the time to measure your head circumference... Consult MH's sizing chart for headwear.)--allow a snug fit. Full ear coverage is provided, as the Gore Windstopper ear band tapers from narrow in the front third to wide in the back two-thirds of its girth. Mine fits just right (a welcome first for a hat of this type): Pulling it down fully, with the crown of my head pressing tightly against the apex of the hat, my ears are completely covered, and the front of the headband stays where it belongs--on my forehead!--requiring no annoying readjustments to keep the hat from blocking my vision. The hat is awfully warm, so if you tend to run hot, a "lesser" hat might be a better choice for sustained high-output activities. | |

The best hat I've found | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I always have a great deal of trouble finding a hat that fits me, as even xl is usually just a little tight. This one, in large, fits me great and keeps me nice and warm, and completely protected from the wind. The stretch panel in the back is genius. It helps the hat to fit very comfortably without being either too tight or too loose. This hat also fits perfectly over my ears, with the bottom hem hugging close to my face, so that my ears are totally out of any and all chilly wind. it's a warm hat even without the wind protection, but with it it's the perfect winter hat! It's breathable as well. i have not noticed a dramatic reduction in sound after having washed it several times, and the wind-stopping quality has not been compromised. | |

IT COVERS MY EARS! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| As a guy with a big head, I have trouble finding beanie hats that go all the way down and completely cover my ears. And usually, if they start out right, they continually slide upward and the bottom of my ears get a one-way ticket to frostbite. But this hat is the perfect shape and length. It goes all the way down, completely covering my ears and even most of the back of my neck. It is toasty warm! In fact, it may be too warm. Sometimes my head gets so hot, because it is also a windstopper, I have to alternate, pulling the hat up and down. But it sure is warm. | |

Great for really cold weather, and it covers your ears!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This hat is great for extremely cold weather, as well as just "normal" cold weather! It's good for any time you are going to be outside for a period of time. Is good at blocking wind, due to the windstopper. It's gotten below zero in the last couple of weeks and this is the hat that I have chosen to wear. The design keeps your ears warmer than other hat styles, as well. The espresso one looks great with my brownie TNF Nuptse jacket, too. If you have one of these and a Mountain Hardwear windstopper Micro Dome for warmer days or for vigorous exercise, you have your hat needs covered! Literally! | |

warm snug cap | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This hat is excellent for what it is... extremely warm and wind proof. Yes it is hard to hear but the ear flaps flip up and stay up very easily. If your in a tent with someone who snores just put this hat on and sleep in silence. At first there was an empty section but I soon realize the cap is intended to be pulled ALL THE WAY down on your head so that it almost covers the back of your neck! It may take some breaking in at first though. Nice to find a windproof hat I no longer have to wear my hood when it's windy. | |

Great Hat for East Winds

| I've recently purchased this hat off the internet having had a Lowe Alpine for years - firstly I've found altrec.com to be a great source for purchasing outdoor gear - secondly this is one serious hat - The Irish have seen a recent bout of very cold easterly weather - this hat, the fleece weight and its shape ensures 0% heat loss throw the head and its contoured sides ensure that your ears keep warm also - My first mountain hardwear piece of equipment - I shall be buying more | |

Great hat | |

| I use this hat for trail-running and hiking. It covers my ears very well, and has a good fit to it. I have noticed the small air pocket other users have mentioned, but it doesn't bother me whatsoever. The materials are top-notch. The only drawback for me is running around with a big logo on my forehead... which I fixed with a permanent marker. The hat does muffle sound, but I wear it in my dorm to drown out noise when I'm studying, so that's cool with me. | |

This hat is a MUST during a cold winter!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Okay .. now you dont need to search for the ultimate warm winter hat anymore. THIS IS IT! I have never ever hat a winter hat which covered all my needs ... this one does. It keeps my head and especially my ears really warm and the style is cool with a great tight fit. I ought to sell my other winter hats, because THIS is the one I always end up wearing! It is not the last time I buy gear form Mountain Hardwear. | |

The best | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I've got a bald head, so am always needing good protection in the winter, as it's hard to keep my head cold. This hat is the best I've ever had at keeping out the chill. For me, it's good to about 5 degrees, maybe 20 degrees if there's a brisk wind. If it gets colder, I'll layer a thinner fleece hat under it and I'm good to the minus temps. Also, it's nice that it covers the ears well. It also wicks sweat well. | |
