Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket -

We've sold so many Mountain Hardwear Epic Jackets in our store, you might as well call it the official raincoat of Burlington, Vermont. "What makes it such a best-seller?" you ask. Well, there are a lot of $100 raincoats out there, but this one is put together better than most. It's got good looks, good colors, totally waterproof DryQ Core 2.5-layer construction, and a killer price. It packs down small so you can keep it in your backpack for a Mt. Mansfield day hike, and it it's just the ticket for rainy days on the UVM campus, too.

Positive Reviews:

I love this jacket!

This jacket always keeps me dry even in heavy downpours. I love the duckbill hood that adjusts with velcro in the back--it never gets in my face. The arms have velcro around the wrists so they can be tightened to prevent water from dripping down your arm. It's very thin so it can be packed away without taking up lots of space. There are generously sized pit zips that help keep you cool in humid but wet weather, but I've still been pretty sticky in it on the most humid days.

The one thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars is that the arms seem to be baggier than necessary, and this becomes visible when the wrist velcro straps are tightened. The fit is not bad, but not particularly flattering either.

Dry as a bone!

I love this jacket! it keeps me very dry and sorta warm. Love the style and the hood is great really covers your whole head and over your face so not to get rain in your eyes.( and mess up your mascara) Really like the adjustable wrists and the pit zip's (sometime's you sweat!) Ok so whats not to love? well it's noisey no sneaking up on someone or starring on a episode of cheaters. And the rubbeish, tacky (sticky, not ugly) inside waterproofing stuff. It's grippy. So no going nakey's under there you might loose a nipp. Overall... dry, warm, non Tammy Faye looking, two nipped happy lady!

Best Outer Layer Out There

This jacket is the best! There is room for fleece, hoodies or whatever long-sleeve shirt you prefer underneath. I like how the shoulders aren't too tight and the sleeves aren't super long. At the same time, the jacket is long enough to cover my backside. As a rower, I can wear it in the rain and not worry about muscle fatigue during practice from damp shoulders. It's light and easily packable. Plus, there are a variety of colors. Once you find the right size (check the sizing chart!), you won't be disappointed.

Loved it so much, bought it for a friend

I used this jacket in the Caribbean where storms blew in/out every day. Unzipped in good weather,it wore like a shirt - no clammy feel. Zipped against a downpour it was still breathable but designed to give maximum coverage, especially high collared neck/hood. Very packable. Only reason I didn't give 5th star is a slight tear that happened on one sleeve. To be fair, happened after someone borrowed it, so don't know the circumstances.

It works! I take it everywhere.

Great shell! It fit perfectly over my mountain hardware pryxis jacket. The hood rolls down, so it won't collect water. I found it breathable, but it cuts wind well. I wore it camping in KY this past October and was very satisfied while fishing in the rain. Now I just need the matching pants! This is an item that I always have on hand. It lives in my car, just in case.

Love it!

I just got this jacket and I love it! It fits great and is really comfortable! The hood is great and really keeps the rain out! The only thing I wish it had is an inside pocket, but overall its great.

Women's mountain hardware epic jacket

Great product so far. Extremely lightweight and very compressible. I am worried its too lightweight, but it has held up to the abuse so far.

Rain Proof!

Kept me dry and warm during a rainstorm-Bonus for that. Doesn't keep you warm if it is really windy, but very comfortable in 50 degree weather.Bummer is if your arms are wet the jacket liner tends to stick to those areas, otherwise I am very happy with my purchase.
