Mountain Hardwear Habitat 5 Tent Reviews:

rated 4 of 5 stars

Habitat 5 is a great tent

We used this tent on a three month motorcycle trip from Texas to Alaska and back and I can say it is a great tent. The tent is a bit heavy for all but auto/MC use. Though rated for 5 people it is the perfect size for two people and thier gear. It's size allowed us to set up our chairs inside on rainy days. This tent is absolutly waterproof, just as it is advertized. Many cold rainy nights in Canada and Alaska and the only water that got in the tent was a slight amount (several drops) of condensation. It is easy to set up, for a tent of it's size, and if you use the factory footprint you can set up the poles and the fly then setup the tent from the inside out; a great feature if it's raining. The two doors and vestibules make entry/exit easy and allow plenty of room for outside storage of wet or dirty items you don't want in the tent. Due to it's height it can be a handful in the wind unless correctly setup.
My only complaint about this tent is the zippers on the fly tend to snag the zipper flap.
As I said, this is a great tent and worth every penny if you are in need of a serious, all weather, tent.

Nice tent

I really like the product. I did not rate it as perfect because I have not had it in any really bad stuff yet or in sub freezing. My wife, three kids, and I do great in it with all the room we need. Nice tent for canoeing or car camping but I would not want to carry it into the backcountry.

great tent,needs better instructions

As a newbie camper,I would like to have more in depth instructions rather than just the included diagram.
