best ski jacket | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I received it as a gift from someone who knew I loves MH. The jacket looks very pretty and insignificant (I have the eggshell); so I was hesitant to wear it for over a year. I finally ended up wearing it on the WETTEST day of cold skiing (unexpected) with a base layer and vest. Everyone was miserable except me. I was so dry and warm and comfortable, I couldn't believe it! I kept thinking, well after this run I'll need to go in and change. Never happened! I needed new gloves, eventually my pants were not so comfortable, but my body was toasty--and I am always cold! I had plenty of room to move because all I was wearing underneath was a MH powerstretch base layer (XS) (can't live w/o it!) & a Spyder vest. Between the small and extra small, I took the small in the jacket and that gave me a mildly roomy, fitted fit. I would buy the jacket in every color. It is so lightweight, takes up no room, and keeps you looking warm and good on the slopes. Need I say more? | |

Flattering, functional

| I didn't want another jacket, didn't need another jacket...except this one. The Synchro is lightweight, pliable, windproof, water resistant, breathes well, has cozy lining that makes it enough on its own in spring/fall, and with a layer, in winter. The style is fitted, and the externally taped seams make cut even more flattering. The white color looks great and is fantastic for visibility biking at night. The sizing seems on the large side, but that may be to accommodate movement and layers. (And it's great, being 5'9" to find a jacket that's long enough in the back and arms.) My only complaint is a tiny one -- the fleece inner cuff is pretty loose, which makes the arm a little floppy and lets the breezies in. But this has totally become my go-to jacket. Worth the money, even better if you can get it on sale! | |

good jacket | |

For days when it isnt too cold (down to -5C), it works well without any layering underneath. For a high impact activity like ice climbing, add a few long underwear shirts and everything is perfect (i have worn it like at -20C like this). I have also worn it skiing, layered with a mountain hardwear monkey fleece underneath. I was comfortably warm, but looked like (and felt) a bit like a marshmellow(not much room under for layering). In this situation, a hard shell would be better, but the softshell was good. In terms of breathability- A plus. In terms of waterproofness, also very good. Sheds light rain, snow-wet snow- very well... There is also a version with a hood. I think this would be a nice addition.

Great Jacket!!!!...perfect for outdoors and city days.

| The cut of this jacket is very feminine, it fits very well. It is SO lightweight, and large enough to fit other layers under it. As advertised, this is a wind and water proof jacket!. The liner is very soft and warm...it gives a nice comfy feeling. I also like the length of the jacket (not too short, not too long, just right there on the hips). The only problem I found is that the arms are a little bit longer for me, I am a medium size, and I never had this problem with the arms before. | |

Flattering shape | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Looks like many other sporty jackets but has a nice flattering shape on. I'm 5'7" and 125 lbs and fit the small with room for light layers underneath. Nice and long in the sleeves but not too long for me. I'm slim and my frame usually requires a medium to fit the shoulders and long enough sleeves. However, the shoulders in the small worked for me. This is my first MH jacket so I don't know if this is standard sizing for MH. I own a MH butter zippity t-neck and wear the medium in that. | |

Sleeves too long | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
First of all, the jacket is gorgeous and I really wish it fit. I am pear-shaped, so I ordered a LARGE to make sure the jacket fit in the hips (I'm 5'6", 145 lbs). The jacket did fit perfectly in the hips, but the arms were WAY too long....like down to my finger tips. If you have this same problem, I would recommend looking at the Backcountry Shift Softshell Jacket or the Ibex Pingo Jacket. Both of these jackets (size L) fit me very well and were very similar to the Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket.

winter runner | |

| Mountain Hardwear doesn't disappoint again. This is a perfect winter outer layer for high output activities, even in below freezing. But this is a shell nevertheless, so you need to couple it with a thermal layer underneath. Very stretchable, and seams are actually taped on the outside, not inside, which adds to an unique look. Sleeves have the built-in fleece collar, like those found in sleeping bags, keeps the warmth in. Great piece, but I would not take it into town, looks too technical for that. | |

Softshell that is Wind/Waterproof!
| Rating: | ![]() |
I wanted a soft shell that was actually waterproof. I had a Marmot before that looked nice but the wind went right through and it would soak through after awhile. The Marmot also started getting snagged from my backpack. This jacket is super soft and comfy to wear and all that I wanted: wind/waterproof and I think the material won't snag since it is really smooth. I got the brown and I think it is fitted very nicely so doesn't look like a men's jacket.

My First Softshell | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The MH Synchro exceeded my expectations. Previously, I owned a wind bloc fleece -- great for the wind but a little less to keep you dry when it snows/rain. For winter hiking with only a light weight base layer, the Synchro does quite well down to the low teens, after that an additional insulating layer works quite well for those single digit hikes. It breathes quite well when working up a sweat. A great deal and even better when the jacket is on sale. | |

MH Synchro Jacket | |

Love it, love it, love it! It is a perfect light weight jacket that I wear around town and also while out running on chilly days. The jacket has a feminine fit that makes any woman look great. I just wish I had gotten the one with a hood and the pockets don't really keep your hands warm, but it shields wind great and the fleece lining makes the jacket warm. Packs great and love the black color.

This jacket it alright, I think it runs a bit small and isn't very warm. I highly recommend getting the hooded one, and ordering the size up if sometimes you are the size up. This jacket is also kind of short. The sleeves are long so you can cover your hands when it is cold, and they have an extra layer of fleece at the end to help with keeping the cold out as well. This is a fully waterproof soft shell, which is nice and different. If you are debating between this and one of the Arcteryx softshells, go with Arcteryx.

Great jacket but... | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I loved this jacket...the style was great and technically one of the best out there. But it just didn't fit. I usually wear a small but neither a small or medium fit. The problem was the shoulders, it was just too tight. I have fairly broad shoulders but don't usually have a problem with jackets. Sadly I had to send it back (twice). If you have broad shoulders like I do, you might try the Marmot Gravity instead...fits perfect.

loved it, but.... | |

Loved everything about the jacket, but the front is the same length as the back, and hence too long. The North Face Apex jacket has a better design and fit fit in that regard, and it "sits" better.
