Cool bag, but helmet won't fit where it shows

Rating:****

I like this bag, it seems durable and fairly well thought out, but I bought it in part because I thought my helmet would fit in th emesh sleeve, as shown in the picture. I was most certainly incorrect. This may have something to do with me having a large size helmet, or the particular helmet that I have (Giro Monza) but I was unimpressed with that aspect. It also seems to not want to stand on its own unless fully loaded, and it would take A LOT to fully load this thing. I've got shoes, tools, helmet, extra lock cable, and some other random stuff in there, and it is STILL not full. So if you're looking for a go anywhere and do anything bag that you can fill with gear, this is it, but if you just need a place for your shoes, change of clothes, and a couple of tools, I would look for something a little smaller.

Nice for storage

Rating:****

The bag seems pretty well built. Couldn't get my shoes in the provided slot, but my helmet was fine... after some coercing... the elastic bands are tight. Also like the thought put into the bag with the mesh to provide ventilation to the different sections.

The bag is big, I've tossed all sorts of stuff in the bag and have yet to fill it up. That may change in the winter with all the layers.

I like the bag(s), I bought three . Get the lower priced cube... both are the same... or they screwed up my order. ;-)

I also agree that it would be nice if the bag could stand on its own... but would probably add bulk. Maybe an internal frame type concept would work...

Go get one!

"Simply a great bike gear bag"

Rating:*****
This is simply a great bike gear bag. It is the perfect size to keep all of your bike gear organized. It has a vented compartment to hold your helmet and shoes, a compartment to hold and organize tools, and a center compartment that is great for storing clothes, towels or anything else. The material is very durable, the zippers are very sturdy and like all other Mountainsmith bags, it is very well made. My only complaint is that I wish that it had a shoulder strap with it I know that you can purchase one separately, but I just wish that it included one. Keeping all of your riding gear together and organized makes it that much easier to grab your gear and go ride!

Well Thought Out

Rating:*****

This bag is perfect for all your bike stuff. It has 3 big main compartments perfect to fit your shoes in one, helmet in the other and camelbak in the middle. There is a picket for your helmet but my Giro didn't fit in it. There are also plenty of other pockets for multitools, Gu, tubes and anything else you want. There are vents on the top to make sure anything damp that goes in the bag still has a chance to dry off. If this thing is full then it takes the shape of a cube but if not full then it will not keep its shape and is hard to make stand up.

Holds all of my gear, except my bike rack!

Rating:*****

I was a little worried when I ordered this, since both my helmet and MTB shoes are larger than most. I have T.H.E. 's F14 helmet which is like a 1/2 helmet and the Adidas Plush shoes, which are like high-tops. The helmet fits in the center section of the bag. The shoes fit where the helmet is pictured in the ad. I have just about EVERYTHING in this monster; spare tubes, spare tire, tools, pumps, etc.... Granted, its quite heavy now that its fully loaded, but I know where all of my "stuff" is. No more "oh mang I forgot that at home somewhere!"

Perfect Bike Bag

Rating:*****

I love this bag. I keep it packed for races, so I always have everything I need ready to go. I have a Giro Xen helmet, and it fits in the bag (as shown above) with no problem whatsoever. My shoes fit next to it. I can fit two racing kits, tools, Gu's and other supplements, a giant container of Heed, two water bottles and my CamelBak, extra tubes, box of CO2 cartridges, and more. And the bag isn't full yet. It's the best bag if you need to have a way to keep ready for anything at anytime.

"Get it"

Rating:*****
I really love this bag, if you love to have everything organized and easy to find, this is for you, even if you don't this bag has room for everything, just throw it all in. Never be without the essentials and all the extras as well. Keep all your bike gear in one place, pack for a weekend, it's a good bag.

Not a cube

Rating:****

This is a bag not a cube since it doesn't have any supports. Great vents on the top to make sure your stuff doesn't get stinky or mold. The only qualm I have about it is that the biggest pocket that is supposed to hold a helmet doesn't hold mine. I have the Giro E2. Get it on sac!

"Makes a great gift for the triathlete"

Rating:*****
I bought the Bike Cube for a hardcore triathlete who has loads of gear. From training to races, it's an awesome bag. When not in use, it folds down easily. Mountainsmith bags are excellent quality and they really hold even after years of use.

Other Reviews:

"This bag is a home run! I am an avid cyclist with a crazy work schedule and a toddler. Often in haste I would gather up my ride gear just to find out five minutes before the ride I forgot something. This bag has solved the whole issue. I keep all my ride gear in it including a jersey and shorts for the next ride. I open the closet, grab it and go. The pictures of this bag dont do it justice; everything cycling related fits in here with no problems, including my helmet. I may buy another one so that I can have a road bag and a mountain bike bag, each with that specific cycling gear in it."
