"the best I've found at a reasonable price"

| Have had the earlier model of the MS pack for years and have packed and mushed dogs for over 30 years. These are the best commercial packs I have found. Forming, stuffing and balancing the contents are critical, as are the compressor straps. I preferred the adjustable top straps on the DPII, but this works fine. Always carry needle and thread and keep them in sight. Any dog may slip the pack in the wrong circumstance. | |

| I listened to reviewers about the size to order and it was perfect! I ordered a medium for my 80+lbs weimaraner, 60lbs Boxer and 70lbs boxer mix. It fits them all and is awesome. We use it to tire them out more on walks. I look forward to camping with them at some point with it. There's lots of room in the pockets. Great buy! | |

"Mountainsmith needs to field test their dog packs before selling these packs to customers."

| We purchased two Mountainsmith Dog Packs (size small and medium) for our two dogs (one as a replacement of a Granite Gear Dog Pack that worked great but we liked the features of the Mountainsmith packs). In the first five days of backpacking with their new packs, both dogs' packs broke. One pack came off and is buried in a pile of red maple leaves somewhere off the Superior Hiking Trail. The other pack broke in multiple locations. In looking at the pack, it appears that single stitching was used in key points which resulted in broken and missing parts. | |
