| Iv'e used this pack for about a month, and it works just the way I like. I use the shoulder strap WITH the waist strap for extra suport (and it slides from front to back pretty easily). The zipper is on the body's side so when it is in front things wont fall out. It also has a top opening for filters, cards and what-not. It fits my Canon XTI (with Battery Pack) and 70-300 IS attached faceing down comfortably (I put it at one side). When doing this, I recomend placeing a Velcro pad (many are included) verticly in a way that suports the camera's grip. This keeps the camera from compressing the lens and keeps it against the side securly. Other things I pack are a 18-55, AA batterys and AA batery grip cartrige, 500d close up filter, Polarizer, lens cleaning suplys, etc. There is still room too with a front, zippered pouch that I havn't even used yet. There are side loops that are perfect for lens cases that holds as big of a lens like a 100-400 or 70-200 2.8 (I'd look for a lowepro paded lens case). Then a consumer cam with wide angle zoom and a smaller prime could fit in the main compartment. But although with all of that, a backpack might be better because of the weight! Overall, I love it. Check it out at the store (That's where I got mine) and bring your equipment. It's worth it in my opinion! | |

| "This is the best camera bag I have found for serious hiking (like the Grand Canyon). It has the unique ability to be configured as a waist bag and a backpack (with optional strapette). It's competitors are the Kata WS-604 and the Domke F2. For normal use I would prefer both of them over this bag but, neither of them have the unique capability mentioned above. The bag has many straps and adjustments and takes a while to get properly configured. Afterwards however, it is very stable and secure. You can switch from backpack to waist bag without stopping or removing the bag. The weight distribution is awesome which allows me to carry my gear MUCH further than I otherwise could. The biggest downside is, the bag has no hard base allowing it to stand on its own. I end up laying it down on its side most of the time as a result when I take the bag off. It includes a rain cover (tucked into the bottom) that can be really handy in a sudden downpour. I carry a Nikon D200 with 3 lenses, a speedlite and a handful of small accessories with no problem. Bottom line: If you need to haul a big bag of camera gear a long distance this is a great bag for the job." | |

| "I purchased this bag to hold my camera gear when I want to travel light. This bag is great for carrying a handful items. Here is a list below of what I can carry with it: - Sony A900 DSLR with 16-35mm f2.8 Wide Lens attached - Sony 24-70mm f2.8 lens w/ lens hood reversed - 4 - 5 CF cards in their plastic cases - Energy bars (snacks) When I want to load up all the way, the tour FX can also fit: - Sony 70-200mm f2.8 telephoto lens w/ lens hood reversed - Minolta 50mm 1.7 prime lens with kenko extension tube set - Sony F58 Flash It also comes with a shoulder strap to use as a standard camera bag. Usually I carry it in this manner when fully loaded, otherwise the waist belt is used. When using as a waist-oack, it is pretty lightweight and comfortable for long hikes. It also comes with a guard to contain the entire case in the event rain becomes an issue. Overall I would say this is a great case to use when you would like to be out hiking and not wanting to carry an entire backpack or full load of equipment." | |

| "Very versatile bag contains enough gear for a day long of photography, + accessories. Possibilities to extend if necessary (add a lens case on the side for example). Can be carried as a lumbar bag (its primary use), a shoulder bag with the strap provided, or a combination of both - + hand carried with the handle mounted on top. Addtional strappettes (around $25 I believe) can turn it into a backpack if you want to carry more gear than usual. It even has a rain cover (hidden underneath). Versatile, well organized, well made: would buy it again." | |

| "This is the best camera bag Ive ever put my gear in. It looks great and the quality is awesome. I also wanted to buy something that was made locally so having it be made it Golden, Colorado is pretty awesome. I will definitely be sticking with Mountainsmith for future bags." | |

| "Easily stores my Canon Rebel XSi with 2 lenses and room for accessories and snack. Travels well and easy to carry with lumbar and shoulder strap. Zip top not the easiest to open and close quickly" | |
