"Closest thing I found to what I really wanted"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I think what I wanted is physically impossible. I wanted a compact shooting case that I could take hiking but still would accommodate the camera and two lenses. This bag comes closest of anything I found and worked really well. I'm going to add a strap-on lens case to handle the second lens, but it takes either my macro of my telephoto lens with no problem. It holds my accessories and is easy to access quickly. | |

Good bag | |

This bag works really well, it's good for backpacking, hiking and there is a rain cover if you need it. Everything works well, straps, zips etc. and the bag is well padded. Fits a Canon Digital Rebel XTi with the standard lens. If you want to take an additional lens or a big zoom lens think about an additional bag.

| "Fits my Nikon D90 with 18-105 kit lens perfectly. The zippering motion that it requires to get at the camera is slightly annoying until you get used to it, but once the top is open its easy to get at the camera. The padding on the inside and the case overall are built very well and sturdy. One thing I would be aware of is that it is much bulkier ( I have the S) than it looks in the picture with the mannequin. I was hoping to hang it off of my belt behind me and be unobstructed while doing hiking and rock scrambling. If you also wear the shoulder strap in addition to putting it on your belt it moves very little while moving around. So it is possible to use it as an active bag, but just keep in mind it will be sticking out a half a foot or so." | |

| "I was deciding between the Mountainsmith Quickfire, M-Rock and Lowepro. Somehow, the 2 others are more expensive than Quickfire. This bag actually has a lot of features equivalent to what the M-Rock was offering. I wasn't wrong with my choice. Aesthetically pleasing and practical. Attention to details is how this bag separates from the others. My D300 with 18-200mm lens fits perfectly. Having an all-weather cover was a surprise." | |

| "Really happy with this purchase. This bag is better quality than I was expecting. Nice material, nice handle and generally looks good. Really nice bonus of the built in rain cover that slips out of the bottom to cover most of the bag." | |

| "Perfect size for my Rebel XS with a 55-200 zoom. Top load gives you quick safe access to the camera. Not a lot but enough extra storage for batteries, filters, wallet and keys. All with the Mountainsmith quality and value." | |

Suitable for backpacking
| Rating: | ![]() |
I got this primarily for backpacking, as it seems to have features that are more suitable for roughing it. Its compact and well padded and has an attached raincover that will extend over the top and front. I got the small size and it will just fit my Nikon SLR and kit lens or a short tele lens. The shoulder straps are comfortable, and it has plastic loops on side for rigging up any additional belts/attachments. There is a front pocket with some compartments, but it doesn't have too much room to expand. Overall, a fairly simple bag with a few thrills. I'm not sure the tapered form is really a great idea because it limits internal space.

SLR Saver | |

A nice novice carrying case for your SLR. I would recommend the size large if you want to carry a flash and several other accessories with the camera. The medium is adequate for a Nikon D40 but does not allow room for too many other accessories. The shoulder strap works well and the bag allows for quick and easy access. Warm grey is good color for a less bold look but yet easier to locate then black. The bag does an excellent job protecting your camera from the elements and from bouncing around during activities.
