This tough-as-nails travel duffel will go to the ends of the earth loaded with skiing, climbing, biking, hiking, and travel gear. Ballistic nylon reinforcements ensure the Travel Trunk Duffel can handle tons of weight, and this durable fabric sluffs off abrasion when being dragged around the airport. You can carry this travel duffel with either a removable shoulder strap or padded haul straps. If you've packed a ton of climbing gear, have a friend grab one of the end handles and share the load. Mountainsmith gave the Travel Trunk two quick release compression straps to manage bulky loads and a small internal zippered pocket to keep small items separate.

I didn't see a review for these simple, awesome bags, so I thought I'd throw some props. I've been using a Large Travel Trunk for the last 6 years or so, going everywhere from PA to CA to UT and in-between, with absolutely no complaints. The Large holds enough for a ten-day summer trip, including a folded suit, dress shoes, and dopp kit if you pack efficiently. The stitching and fabric are bomber, and the compression straps on top take the strain off the zipper, which is where most bags give out first. My only request would be that BC stock some of the more vibrant colors (I have red) that make it easier to spot coming off the baggage claim belt. Otherwise you won't be disappointed.

"It really couldn't more be what it is"

| It's a big, tough bag. And that's about it. The Red is really pretty. There's a nice bungie square on the front. The bottom seems water at-least resistant. Compression straps are swell. The single shoulder strap is great. I love that it's recycled. People who have seen mine have said things like, 'but why isn't it waterproof' and 'it doesn't have backpack straps' and they're absolutely correct it's a duffle bag. A person could get MountainSmith's shoulder strapettes if they wanted a backpack feature. It's not supper expensive and there are other bags on the market with more features, but for what this bag is - durable, clean, and inexpensive - this is great, and a great value. | |

Mountainsmith makes super durable produts & this duffel is no exception. The large is highly versatile: Perfect size for those who want a duffel able to carry up to 2 weeks worth of clothes, etc. but not so large that it can't be used for shorter, week-long trips(the compression straps obviously make this possible). Everything from the material to the zippers, side handles, compression straps & shoulder strap are "quality" for sure.

recently took the XL on a mountaineering trip to mexico. packed it to 50lbs and took it on the plane just fine. on the mountain I kept having to stuff more into it, there seemed to be no limit to what this bag could hold! the compression straps do there job great and so do the straps and carry system. I am very pleased.

Great for traveling | |

We purchased this bag for our Golden Retriever for traveling. It held all his stuff for a nine day road trip. When we got back I threw the bag in the washer and it came out looking good as new. We really were happy with this bag and Sam recommends it for humans also:)

Great piece, but a little smaller than I thought.

First, this is a great piece of luggage. Pair it with the MS Strappettes and this is the perfect duffel/backpack. However, the Large is a little smaller than I thought. You may want to consider the XL for the monster duffel that you may be looking for.

Massive! | |

This bag is great, almost too great. I didn't realize how big the XL bag was, until i fit everything but my spare tire in it. Good for a week bag not a weekender bag.

"Awesome bag, tough as 2 steak."

| Great bag, tough as nails, use it in my car to stay somewhat organized. This bag has withstood both my dog pawing at it in the backseat and the throwers at Hartsfield-Jackson. | |

The medium was bigger than I expected and definitely gave me extra room to bring back souvenirs. The compression straps are definitely the best feature on this bag!

Nice bag | |

Bought both M and L bags - extremely durable, takes a ton of abuse. Large storage capacity - having the compression lines really help.
