The Best!

I always use this cook kit for multi-day backpacking trips. This is the most reliable cookware you can buy. Stainless steel may not be as light as aluminum or titanium, but it's also not as expensive as Ti and you won't get aluminum in your food. Aluminum will get easily dented too where this pot set will not.
The inside edges are curved just right to make cleaning simple...no hard-to-clean 90 degree corners. I bring a little green scrubbie and tuck it in between the two pots for storage.
It all stores neatly into it's own stuff sack and there's room in side for a few bowls and a small packable stove if you want to hide it in there for smart packing.
Don't packpack with anything else.

Add the heat exchanger!

Troop 6 tested these pots on 5 stoves at 20 degrees. Boiled 1 pint water on each stove for test. On the Whisperlite Internationale, an uncovered pot took 6 minutes and thirty seconds to boil; adding the lid (which fits very well), dropped the boiling time by a minute and a half; fitting it with the heat exchanger and cover together, reduced the boiling time to just four minutes. This is our primary cookwear for hiking and kayaking. Excellent. Very durable. Holds up to Scouts use.

Light and cooks well

All items fit within the large pot for easy storage, and altogether the set is very light. The pots also distribute the heat very evenly.

"Sturdy, efficient, very useful, long lasting, and good value."

Steven at Moosejaw (Fall 2008) on 04/09/2006

Sturdy, efficient and very useful. This set is perfect for camping or emergency use. The stainless steel conducts heat relatively evenly and quickly. The set is easy to clean and it is not too heavy. Better price than titanium and more sturdy also. Healthier than aluminum and I'm sure easier to clean and longer lasting. I would not get any set of nonstick or aluminum cookware. One suggestion: Make a belt or band to keep the pots nested when handling in travel. The upper lid should be secured to hold the stack together. I used an velcro cinch strap that I had and that just happened to fit, but this top lid securing method should be part of the set.

"if you camp out of a car, this is the cookset you want."

Michael at Moosejaw (Fall 2008) on 03/19/2006

for car camping, in my opinion, there is not a better cookset. here's why: 1) it has a 3 litre pot, which i use for making pasta. many other sets only have 2 litre pots, but if space or weight is an issue, this would not necessarily be desirable 2) it's durable; stainless steel is a great material, especially if, as i said before, weight is not an issue. 3) it has 3 pots; the more pot(s) the better if you ask me.
