Killer Cookset

globalup at REI on 07/26/2008

The only con to this cookset is the weight. Not that they are incredibly heavy, but I'm sure a titanium cookset would reduce weight a touch. That said, I've had the set for about 8 years and LOVE it. The pots are incredibly durable and they are the perfect size. The large pot is just the right size to fit a dry soup pack (with the required 8 cups of water). It goes right up to the brim, but perfect for a minimalist.

This cookset is great for backpacking. My stove and a few other items pack well in this set. This is a lightweight and sturdy set of cookwear.

Reliable and durable

I am using this on by boat for an extended cruise. I have been using them for 7 months, 2 to 4 times a day, without any problems. No handle is great for a rocking boat. Very good and stacks well.

"good deal"

Not the lightest but will last forever and got it free with reward pointsthanks guys. The shallow pots speed up boiling and the larger of the two fits my stove perfectly reducing packed space. Stainless also avoids concerns about non-stick coatings.

Couldn't wait to go camping to use this set. Took it home and made pancakes on my stove. Heating is more even than my kitchen pots and pans! Nice and light, the fry pan has a groove in the bottom which makes a perfect concave surface to hold maple syrup!!! Didn't have any problems with food sticking to the sides. Filed the largest pot up with water to cook some pasta and the lil gripper didn't have a problem lifting it- didn't buckle once! COmes with a nice lil mesh bag carrier- which I wold use as a brew bag toss in brews, drop down to cold water in the lake- and now you have some cold ones Moosejaw had this product on my desk with their standard free shipping in 2 days! Buy Local-

Will not break, no matter what you try.

From that great quarry outside of North Andove MA, to the depths of the Nicolet National Forest in WI, this set has gotten me through some interesting times. Took a little longer to black up than I like, but once it does, it cooks like a dream. I got the XPD heat exchanger with mine, well worth the extra few bucks if you're doing anything cold weather.

very nice

very versatile , if you only get one set of camping pots this is the one . They will last forever and they pack up nicely.

Strong and Durable Cookset

IssyHikerBiker at REI on 10/10/2007
Rated: ****
Though a little bulky and heavy, I really appreciated how durable this cookset is. Already, mine has some dings, and is pretty beaten up, but is still usable. If you burn your food, it's a little hard to clean. Of course, if you have a good cleaning pad, it can be a little easier. One more point, stainless steel last longer than anodized aluminum. So, expect to keep this cookset for life!

"Could I have some more Aluminum and Titanium oxide please!!!"

Robert at Moosejaw (Fall 2008) on 10/03/2007
Rated: *****
Yeah, I know, stainless steel is heavy but from my knowledge of welding and working with metals, titanium and aluminum oxidize and I don't feel comfortable knowing that these two metals will leach into my food. Great cook set with the ability to choose just what size you may need or you can carry both pots for larger groups. Another benefit is that you don't have to keep bending out the kinks and distorted ill fitting lids that so often occur with other pots.
