Possibly the most famous of all MSR® products and arguably the best snow pickets ever made. Coyote Snow Pickets have stood atop the world's highest peaks as well as in countless snowy playgrounds right here in North America. Extruded from aircraft-grade, heat-treated aluminum for optimum strength-to-weight performance.
Coyote Snow Pickets are extruded from heat treated aircraft grade aluminum. That accounts for the fact that they´re 50% stiffer than other pickets of equal weight. Then there´s the design. MSR modified the old T shaped cross section and put more metal where it counts, that is, where strength and bending resistance are needed most. Combined with Coyotes extra stiffness, this structure produces 20% more holding power than traditional designs, while exposing more surface to the snow. Another point is convenience. The Coyote´s attachment points are at 3-inch intervals along the neutral axis. That makes for easy clipping and fast freeze-ins, and also helps reduce weight. Plus Coyotes pickets can be buried from either end, or attached with a runner in the center for a deadman anchor.

MSR Coyote Snow Picket - Whatever you want to anchor, Coyote Snow Pickets are sturdy enough to hold it. Forged from aircraft-grade aluminum, these pickets are lightweight and incredibly strong--with 20% more holding power than traditionally designed pickets. The convenient design features attachment points spaced at 3 in. (7.6 cm.) intervals, and identical ends for fast pitching. Forged from #7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum alloy For best results, angle your picket 15 degrees off perpendicular, away from direction of pull Generous attachment points fit all carabineers 13 oz. (369 g.)

Coyotes use a unique design and aircraft-grade aluminum for a lighter, stiffer picket.
Made from high-grade aircraft aluminum, the MSR Coyote Snow Picket gives mountaineers and alpine climbers solid snow protection and anchoring thanks to its increased surface area. Holes are located at 3-inch intervals for easy clipping and tying off, and the low weight ensures you won’t leave this classic piece of gear behind.
Bury the aircraft-grade aluminum Coyote Snow Picket from MSR from either end, or use it as a deadman anchor. You'll have greater surface-area-to-snow contact thanks to the extra flange while the holes along the length provide easy clip-ins and minimize weight.

Great snow anchor | |

| I bought two of those 24-in snow pickets... I used them as pickets when the snow is pretty firm and as a deadman anchor when the snow is softer. They are pretty light since they are made of aluminum and I always bring them along when traveling on glaciers. They are also great as a tent anchor while snow camping but don't bring them along just for that. | |

"NICE!!!" | |

| MSR makes some bitchin gear. They pound in pretty good without having to go too ape crazy with the hammer. Once in properly there bomb proof and certainly are a welcome anchor on a empty slope. Also during the summer months they work perfect in sand to anchor your kayak or rubber arm floaties while comming to shore. | |

| well, there isnt a huge difference in pickets across the board but these are a very reliable and well performing option. does exactly what you want in a picket and reliablity/durability has been very good in my experiences with these. for gods sake though, the 36in is overkill for pretty much any situation. stick with the 24in. | |

| You know you need it and you know its the best out there so buy it already. It is a bomber anchor there is no other way to put it. I carry 2 at all times and go with the 2 footers. | |

| I have been using it on many of my glacier climbs. It's light to pack, easy to use and holds great in snow. No problems so far. | |

The only picket | |

The picket of choice for sure. Strong, light and dependable. The only picket I have ever needed. 24" is way more packable than the 36" version.

The Coyote is the standard by which all other pickets are measured. It is light and very strong. The 24" is the perfect size.

Get the 2ft one. You will never need more length than that. These are durable and should literally last forever.

The one and only. | |

There is a reason why this is the most common picket out there. It works! No complains/problems.
