This footprint is sized to fit the floor of your MSR® Hubba tent. It attaches to the pole ends and acts as an extra floor to protect the sewn-in floor from wear and tear. It’s a great way to prolong the life of your tent floor, and is cut a bit smaller than the tent's floor so that rainwater doesn't catch in the footprint and pool under the tent. The perimeter is cut with a slight catenary curve to ensure a smooth and taut fit.

To provide protection and water resistance with their tent series, MSR offers their Hubba Tent Footprint as an option with their MSR Hubba Tent. Designed to increase floor durability, the MSR Hubba Tent Footprint is made from water-resistant polyester taffeta, protecting your tent from sharp objects and minimizing wear and tear on your tent. Reinforced grommets along the sides allow you to easily use the ground cloth as a tarp, and the MSR Footprint clips onto the tent's poles to keep it in place. Made with the same painstaking attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship as their line of tents, it's an accessory that's almost a necessity.

Maiden voyage in Mt. Wrangel St. Elias National Park in Alaska - "coldest summer in 50 years" according to the locals. We encountered some decent rain showers and the tent was very easy to assemble and kept two of us warm and dry (I'm about 6ft tall and found there was adequate space for two with some smaller gear at our feet). There was a considerable amount of condensation (very normal) but nothing managed to make its way inside the tent. I liked the dual doors so no need to crawl over your tent-mate and the vestibules were big enough to set boots, or even your whole pack underneath. It is very light for a two-man tent and would be fine for taking on solo trips as well. I have two small children and plan to use it with them later this fall.

Used the footprint the first time we used the Hubba Hubba tent. Fits perfectly, easy to use and very lightweight. We stayed at an established campground on our way to our backpacking trip and they had those gravel bed tent platforms. I can see the gravel indentations in the footprint but no rips/tears, anything. I was really glad the tent bottom itself was not going to be on that gravel because the Hubba Hubba bottom is pretty thin. So the footprint was essential and served us perfectly.

| MSR has really done a great job with the tent his goes with as well as the product. If you want to go ultra lightweight just bring your rainfly poles and this footprint. They will all set up without the actual tent. I used it for a quick assent in the Sierras and was super impressed with how well the system worked! | |

Does what it's supposed to well. Can be used with just the fly and poles to reduce weight if you don't want to bring the rest of the tent.

| Great quality footprint from a great company. MSR worked out some kinks with the 2009 edition of the Hubba tent and I couldn't be happier! Highly Recommended!! | |

| Stayed at a couple campsites last year while hiking and didn't want to worry about the wood chips poking through my tent since I paid good money for it. The footprint is a let down though - for one thing, it's not waterproof just water resistant. Also, it fits loosely underneath the tent but MSR told me that the size is intended like that (I called them to ensure that my 06 tent is the same dimensions as the 08 footprint). At the end of the day, I may pack it just in case but I think all it will do is serve as a $40 pillow at night.I gave it 3 stars because maybe I didn't properly understand the purposes of the footprint. If the only point is to make the bottom of the tent more durable, you think they would just make the tent bottom stronger to begin with but maybe that's what makes it lightweight. 5 stars to the tent at least. | |
