Mountain Gear

On large expeditions or the grounds of a 3-day music festival, protect your group from the sun, wind and rain underneath 200 square feet of durable nylon with the Outfitter Wing from MSR. Full height and shape adjustability via a 7-point design gives you setup options, and the polyurethane-coated nylon tarp is strategically cut to reduce wind-caused noise and flapping.

Features:

  • Built to withstand the elements thanks to the polyurethane-coated nylon taffeta construction
  • Keep your large group out of the sun, wind, and rain underneath this huge shelter that can be adjusted to various shapes and heights - large enough to stand underneath at peak
  • Reduce the annoying and damaging flapping you get with other tarps as this shelter is specifically cut into an inverted wing design that pitches taut and remains quiet and stable
  • Setup is quick, easy, and versatile with 2 durable 8-foot aluminum poles and 8 stakes that create a 7-point design for various setup options and configurations

"Best group tarp ever!"

Rating:*****
I've used these back when they were made by MOSS. MSR had carried the tradition on very well. These are tough and super versatile. Its uses are only limited by your imagination. If you are in a wooded area you don't even need the poles. Paddles work great too. It can be a bit of a "wing" in the wind so tie it tight and don't be afraid to go low with it. Once you get the system really dialed it you can set it up so that it high enough to stand, but ready for a couple quick changes to prevent sideways rain from getting in on the windward side. Its only weakness is buggy areas. I've found that 6 adults can sleep with lots of personal space and gear in bad weather in this thing.
