"Small stove, pan full of water, soft ground, need trillium."

Rating:****
This is quite an amazing, compact portable fly swatter. It doubles as modern art, lending a chic touch to ones campsite. On the downside, you will not be able to hide behind it should a rogue grizzly saunter into your camp but even that cloud has a silver lining, it won't take up much pack space either. We did eventually find a practical use for it though we used it to support our MSR Superfly stove when setting it down on sand. We would have purchased it sooner had we known it could be used so effectively to support a stove on soft ground I should let MSR know it can be used that way.

"Works great with MSR windpro too!!!"

Rating:*****
great product! I actually use it for my WindPro stove, it will fit contrary to what you here. It does add 2.8 ounces to your backpack. But I do consider it a must for large pots. It allows me to use the same stove for solo backpacking trips as well as family car camping trips. No more suitcase type stoves that swallow my honda civic trunk space. 8 inch fry pans are no problem when using this base. Can you name another way to make your backpacking stove serve as a family stove as well?

"Must have for sand and rocks or being clumsy."

Rating:*****
This stand works great. On sand it gives a solid footprint. The legs of the stove lock in for a solid cooking surface. I was using it on a mossy rock and put the pot on a bit crooked but instead of dumping the pot, stove and fuel bottle off the rock, only the pot fell. Folds down to about the size of the stove and fits in storage bag the stove came with.

Best I have ever used

Rating:*****
This is the 3rd stove base I have used and is easily the best ever. The others broke for one reason or another. I have used it for 3 years now and never had a single problem. Easy to use. Very compact. Stores inside my pot with the stove. Indestructable. Worth every penny. The best small item I have ever purchased.

Keeps it stable

Rating:****
Without it, several meals would have become part of the landscape. Absolutely necessary when cooking on sand, snow, gravel, or stone. I've used mine with my Whisperlite Internat'l for years and now with a Dragonfly. Fits perfectly in the stuff sack for either, and most of the time can take the place of the bottom heat reflector.

"folding platter for your stove"

Rating:****
Nice lil bonus piece for their stove. really adds some stability for those not so clear and level cook spots. Ya could probably make do without it in most situations, but is so handy it goes in the must pack pile.

Great Stove Platform For The Snow

Rating:*****
Very easy to use stable snow platform for white gas and multi fuel MSR stoves. I have used it for years with my Whisperlite International on many trips in the winter and spring without a problem.

it really helps out on sand or gravel

Negative Reviews:

"Build a real stove board for long trips on snow!"

Rating:**
Lightweight and good for dirt or stone. But it melts out on snow!
Jason at Moosejaw on 06/24/2005

Neutral Reviews:

Nice puzzle.

Used with Simmerlite. Very compact and light, but hard to figure out. I could get two out of three legs locked in place, but getting the third was like solving Rubiks Cube. Two legs are enough to give you the added stability.
