This wind shield and heat deflector really shortens your cooking time. I bought one only to realize that one was included with my MSR Stove. If you place a rock wall around the cooking area you will further protect the stove parts from being lost in heavy wind gusts ! | |

Good to have when high wind conditions warrant use. A strategically placed rock wall will also suffice but is more problematic. Continuous folding will eventually cause tears. Try using heavy duty aluminum foil as a replacement. Cover the exposed portion of the plastic pump in case of flare-ups & heat build-up. | |
