| My wife and I have been using Nalgene bottles for many things. These 1 oz bottles work great for carrying spices, medicines, liquid soaps, even fountain pen inks! That's right; I use them for fountain pen inks when traveling, since I carry a fountain pen with me everywhere, so I can refill my pen using bottled inks. They're shatterproof and nearly indestructible, don't break when dropped I'd found as they just bounced. That's a great thing for ink use to avoid those mishaps that can happen, when accidentally dropping a glass bottle of ink that could make a serious mess. The bottles are designed to be leak-proof and I can attest that they truly are. No paper inner cap liners to fall out as with other bottles, nothing inside to get saturated or deteriorate just a flanged lip that widens and seals very tightly & securely. I have one I carry medicine in every day, that's over 20 years old and it still seals as well as the day I'd first bought it. If you fill with liquids and leave a little airspace, they can even float if dropped in a body of water such as if kayaking or canoeing, so they can be retrieved. They resist mold/mildew and bacteria growth and we use the larger ones for our water purification system too when traveling, whenever local drinking water quality is questionable. I have Nalgene bottles of this 1oz type I'd filled with fresh ground peppercorns and sea salt over 15 years ago, when opened recently/briefly the ground pepper still smells freshly-ground and the sea salt is still un-clumped and dry. To this day I've not found better bottles than Nalgene bottles, anywhere. I find new uses for them often and would feel lost without them at times; nothing else quite like Nalgene bottles for the outdoors, indoors, or just all-around use! | |
