good value, functional

Rating:*****
For years i have resisted buying one of these "specially designed for outdoors" water bottles and resorted to [...]types instead ($1.99 for 1 L! Recyleable #4 plastic. Sport top. Easy grip). My logic: Please, people. Do we have to be as commercialized as we already are and invest in $20 aluminum bottles from sweden? The answer, you probably do when you're stranded in a remote crag and your [...]bottle ruptures. I like this Nalgene brand a lot because it's durable, is only [$] (I lose / left water bottles once every month) and it goes a long way in terms of style, functionality and "normalcy." Normal because people take one glance at it and instantly recognizes the brand, as opposed to giving me quizzical look like, what the hell are you drinking from? One extra bonus, people at the gym actually saves this water bottle now until my next trip to the gym as opposed to chucking them in the trash like they do with my walmart bottles.

A Classic

Rating:*****

Nalgene water bottles have been classics in the outdoor industry for years and always will be. Even with new innovative stuff like the Platypus water bottles (which are nice) the Nalgene bottles are still a hit. Virtually indestructible, you can do many things with them. You can eat your freeze dries meal in it and can put boiling water in it without the fear of it melting. If its cold you can boil water and tuck it in your sleeping bag with you. If you are new to the outdoors or just dont have one of these bottles I suggest getting one. You won't regret it.

Super Fantastic

Rating:*****

I hold two of these on my pack and they get HEAVY when filled to the brim. But water is a main priority when backpacking so I can't complain about that. These things rock! They seal 100% tight without a drip of water. They work with the msr miniworks which imo is the most convenient waterfilter on the market and they are wide enough to use as a pee bottle in the winter when you just don't want to go outside in the middle of a -20 degree night to pee. If they ever break in the future i'll be buying them again.

Sturdy

Rating:*****
This was exactly what I was looking for in a water bottle. Able to freeze and sturdy. Top opens easily. Bought for hiking since I broke my last bottle, but was to large for my pack. It's really wide. I use it for everyday use around the house. I went on the Nalgene website to purchase same bottle but in a smaller size.I wish they had a better size selection. The bottles are to large/wide or to short and don't hold enough.

Great value for money

Rating:****

Initially I thought the bottle was a little expensive, but now I think this is worth it. The bottle is very durable and the plastic is of high quality. The cap is also great and doesnt allow water to drip. The bottle looks great! One thing though, the mouth is a little wide and could result in spill if you drank too fast...if so, go for a narrow mouthed bottle. However, in any case this is a good value for money.

Perfect for any situation.

Rating:*****

I will never buy another water bottle. I've been carrying a large mouth nalgene bottle for years, and never had a problem with any of them. The only reason I ever have to buy a new one is when I accidentally leave one in any one of the places I bring it to each day. Why not splurge and support your favorite retailer? If anything, it starts conversations to friends not knowledgeable of BC.

I use it everyday

This container is Great!
I take it to my Starbuck's store. I buy a grande black iced tea and then have them fill the remaining container with ice, This container is easy to fill especially the ice part. I get .10 off my order because I brought my container; plus I'm eco friendly. It's great having the container BPA free.
PS: No spills.

good canteen

Rating:****

Tough and I have never had one leak. Easy to clean. I got a few when I started backpacking but they got cut when I started shaving weight (a 1 liter platypus weighs 1/10 of one of these). If you use these, consider getting a cookpot/cup that slides over the end of the bottle to save space in your pack.

Almost Perfect

Rating:****

I carried two of these on a 150+ mile backpacking hike on the Ice Age Trail. Tough and light, the Nalgene container does the job when it comes to filling, drinking and using a water sterilization tool like the Steripen. Only knock -- Backcountry's printed logo and more importantly, measuring scale, abraded away in less than two weeks.

Gotta love it

Rating:*****

It's the typical Nalgene wide mouth bottle but that's what makes it so great. I've dropped it several times on the cement ground (good 4 foot drop) and also on the rocky dirt trail. It's held up to many beatings with a few scratches but not once has it ever leaked or anything. Everyone should have one really...
