I love these shoes. These are my second pair of Nike Frees. I bought the original 5.0 in 2005 and they went for years dealing with daily workouts on machines and in the weight room. Now I've had the Sparq '09s for almost two months and I have nothing but praise. These shoes get an easy 5 stars from me. Here's why. Fit: For me Nikes have always been true to size and why I will always stick with them. I wear an 8.5. I have normal size feet with a second toe that's longer than my big toe. Regardless, the fit is perfect. First week I wore them, the right shoe felt a little big, but it eventually conformed nicely to my foot. Performance: I workout on the versa climber, elliptical, and stair stepper. I lift weights and play tennis occasionally. Support is fantastic. The shoes are awesome for leg days when I do squats (full on, no half-ways) and calf exercises (I like to do a full stretch on the way down so the flex is perfect). If they support me as well as they do on leg days, they pass the test. Looks: Simple. That's what I loved about the 5.0s and now the Sparqs. No crazy colors, design or any of that obnoxious shoe bling. These babies are tools, not a fashion statement for the ego minded. Quality: If these things are as good as my 5.0s, these will last. The construction is solid. I would say better than the 5.0s since they seemed to improve certain areas (fabric) of the 5.0s that prematurely began to wear down. Love em! There are others that feel as strongly about the Frees as I do. So much so that I had a hard time finding them in stores. Sales reps told me that customers would buy two pairs at a time because they loved them so much. Amazing no one else thought of making such a simple shoe. It's what the people want!

I have been a fan of frees in all their different versions since the 5.0. This latest iteration, the Sparq, is a very beautiful upgrade to the Free family and a MUCH better shoe than the Everyday. What makes the Free such a good shoe is that it really is a lightweight trainer. It runs like a racing flat but wears like a more supportive shoe. I have run in these new sparqs for a couple of weeks now. I run in them every time I train. Even though the prevailing wisdom is that the Free family isn\'t good for running every time. I have found this to be such a comfortable, well wearing shoe that I wear it every time I run. I had been told that I was a serious overpronator when I run and that neutral shoes were wrong for me. But I switched anyway and it ended all my injuries. Since running with the frees, I have had zero instances of Plantar Fasciitis or shin splints; two problems I have had to deal with a lot in the past. I highly recommend these shoes.

I have had Nike Free shoes since they came out. I have really liked them because you can feel the textures and nuances of the terrain you are walking over, plus they are increadibly comfortable. I got my Sparq\'s a couple of weeks ago, and although I do like them, they are not as great as previous models. The soles don\'t flex as much, and I don\'t get as much "feedback" from my feet as I\'m used to getting. They also make my feet feel warmer as well. They are still super comfortable, and if I hadn\'t been prior Free models to compare them to, I would probably love them. Overall they are a very good shoe, but next time I\'ll order a 7.0 or a 5.0 instead.

I didn't know what to expect from these shoes prior to purchase. The reviews had been good, for the most part, but you never know until you put the shoes on your own feet. When the shoes came, faster than expected due to Zappos great policy of upgrading shipping at no extra cost to me, I couldn't have been happier. Most shoes make my feet hot just from normal walking and wearing. These shoes don't. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes, bar none, that I've ever worn. The material on the toe-top allows for ventilation and the construction of the upper allows for great give, allowing the foot to "breathe" in the shoe. I'm going to buy another pair! Highly recommended.

Great shoes! I was skeptical about the Nike FREE concept at first, but now I love them. They give you more flexibility and range of motion than regular sneakers, but they are still supportive and not flimsy. I use these at the gym, for weight training, different cardio machines, and even running. For all applications, they feel wonderful. Before these I had several pairs of Air Max 180's and 360's, and the Sparq Free's blow them out of the water! As usual, Nike shoes tend to fit about a half size small, and these fit true to "Nike" size. But luckily, I'm a size 12, and Nike makes many shoes in the rare size 12.5, which fit me perfectly.

I've only recently begun playing Field Sports in the Sparq model, though I've been running on the Nike Free 5.0 for several years. I play Ultimate Frisbee on field conditions that are very hard to good/grassy. Cutting, running, and turning have never been problem. These are extremely light compared to my normal, leather cleats. They are also wide enough to accommodate soft ankle braces, which is important to many players I know. These are now my #1 shoe of choice for Ultimate games and practices. I change only when I'm forced to wear cleats for traction on moist ground.

Most comfortable shoes I have ever put my feet in. The ‘09 model is a definite upgrade from the ‘08 TRs, they cut out notches in the points where your foot flexes to allow better movement. I wear these shoes to lift/train and for everyday use. They are very mobile in the shoe and not for people who need a lot of support! The colors are not my favorite so I got a second pair that is mostly white and grey to wear with shorts. I save this pair to wear with pants.

These are light comfortable shoes that have enough room at the forefoot for someone with wide front feet. Many Nike shoes are too narrow in the front to be comfortable for me. Also like the flexibility of the forefoot. Good for Pose runners. They have a small enough heel to be almost flat, which helps my back. Anything with a heel hurts my low back. They look nicer than the picture. Fit pretty true to size, maybe need 1/2 size larger. Very comfortable. More color choices would be nice.

Hooked after the Nike Free 7.0 trainers, these Nike Free Sparqs are just as good, if not better. I use them primarily for lateral/speed/balance/agility/core type training and I've never been disappointed. I typically wear size 13, and these in size 13 puts my toe to the end of the toe box, but that actually feels appropriate and perhaps how the "Free" shoes are intended to be worn. Extremely durable thus far - a great all-around shoe.

For the shoe review: everything and more than what I was hoping for; so comfortable and light, awesome running shoe. For the service that Zappos.com gives: is excellent; ordered something around 6:30 p.m. and got them the next day. Very friendly help and you can actually understand what they are saying to you. Will be ordering more shoes soon.
