The non-detergent and bio-degradable Down Wash treatment restores the loft and natural water-repellency of down garments, sleeping bags and comforters. It effectively cleans heavily soiled down-filled equipment. By preserving the water-repellency of outer fabrics as well as the down, it helps the down and feathers regain their “bounce and loft (can be applied directly to remove grease spots or stains).
The Down Proof treatment increases the effectiveness of the insulation in damp conditions and makes down less susceptible to humidity. The wash-in treatment reduces the water-absorbency of down, adds water-repellency to the outer shell, and helps down dry faster (lasts several washings).

DownProof wash-in treatment reduces the water absorbency of down and adds water repellency to the fabric's outer shell. It also makes down less susceptable to humidity. It makes down less susceptible ot humidity, helps it dry faster and increases the effectiveness of the insulation in damp conditions by helping the down maintain maximum loft. Downproof may reduce breathability of coated or laminated breathable waterproof fabrics. Sleeping bags should be treated in a large capacity commercial front loading machine.

| I have pretty much lived out of my down sleeping bag for the last seven years and have had to wash it without a good down wash in the past which was the best I could under the circumstances. I was glad to see that it was offered on Zappos. The Nixwax down wash and down proof is pretty straight forward on its use. The bag smelled great when it was done and didn't have that damp down smell even...just smelled clean. The down proof gave a nice luster to the bag and it looked good as new considering the use it has seen. Very happy overall. The down proof is bottle is only enough for one wash of a 2-3 season bag if I remember correctly. I had enough of the down wash for two washings. So, this combo is more for a one time wash on a 2-3 season bag. | |

| Really great stuff; works like a charm - These two worked wonders. I wouldn't be sure how they would work alone since I used them together (washed jacket with down wash, then with down proof, then dried the jacket in the dryer). Be sure to follow instructions exactly. My jacket is fluffy, clean (mysterious dirt and stains disappeared) and now rain water will "bead" off of it. Doesn't make the item waterproof, just a good water resistance. | |

| Did a fine job waterproofing my MTNHDWR down coat. I don't think there are many competitors and I've had better luck washing in some water resistance with Nikwax products versus Grangers. Good stuff and the price is right. Also comes with a purple cap. Purple repels water. My coat is dry so it must be true. | |
