Formulated to restore the waterproof breathable qualities of technical shells and other performance outerwear, Nikwax® TX-Direct Wash-In Care is one of the easiest and most thorough ways to care for your wet weather gear. The wash-in treatment ensures that all creases, corners and sides of your garments are completely immersed, allowing TX-Direct to rejuvenate water repellency and seal micro cracks around suspect wet-out areas. An Editor's Choice Award winner in Backpacker Magazine, TX-Direct is safe for Gore-Tex Ultrex, Entrant and other waterproof breathable fabrics. Restores waterproof/breathable performance in technical outerwear. Tested safe for Gore-Tex Ultrex, Entrant and other waterproof breathable fabrics. Environmentally-friendly formula. 10 oz. bottle.
If your wet weather gear is starting to lose its prowess, it's time to treat it with Nikwax wash-in TX direct waterproofing. Just one washing with the treatment added will revive your garments' breathability and add water repellency.
Nikwax TX Direct Wash-In treatment restores durable water repellency (DWR) for waterproof/breathable fabrics such as Gore-Tex, HyVent, PreCip, and Event. Washing and using fabrics can make them begin to absorb water or "wet out". Nikwax TX-Direct completely restores surface water-repellency which enhances breathability. Nikwax TX-Direct lasts several washings and does not need to be reapplied after every wash like other treatments. 10 fl oz. (300 ml)
Nikwax TX Direct Wash In treatment restores the DWR (Durable Water Repellency) on your hard shell outerwear. Lasts several washings so you won't get soaked. Note: This product will reduce the effectiveness of moisture-wicking liners.
The patented formula of TX.Direct Wash-In from Nikwax was the world’s first water-based wash-in waterproofing formula, and after countless formula improvements, remains the waterproofing standard in the market. Restores the durable water-repellent finish to all waterproof/breathable laminates, coatings, and microfibers.

Water-based treatment that renews waterproof performance.

Works Great! | |

I washed my stuff with the Tech Wash then this stuff and it made my coats clean and waterproof again. Its nice to see the water just bead off your coat! One thing I didnt realize is that it takes a whole bottle of this stuff just to do 3 coats. And this stuff gave me a little scare when I took out my orange MH Argon jacket it looked like orange tie-die and I was afraid it stained it that way but I let it hang and air dry and about 3 hours later it looked the way it should.

Everyone knows that even the best DWR's start to lose their repellency over time. This is the solution. Use the green tech was first to clean it, and then wash it with this to restore it. Some might say it's magic, and maybe it is. The bottom line is that this stuff restores the DWR coatings on your jackets. So rather than get rid of your expensive clothing, year after year, just wash it with this stuff and your good to go for the next season.

| I bought the tx wash after using Rivex spray on my goretex for years. The Nikwax TX is soo much easier to use, and quite frankly seems to have revived the fabric of my 7 year old Mountain Hardware jacket. The Jacket now feels like it's brand new, fabric is soft and repells water like it did fresh out of the store. Time will tell how long the Nikwax treatment lasts, but my initial impression is that this works so much better than Rivex. | |

Saved me big bucks! | |

| Used the product to make a GoreTex jacket water resistant again. This saved us hundreds of dollars. The directions are a little bit unclear on when the wash version should be used versus the direct application formula. We used the wash version which may have made the inside liner water resistant (and therefore may cause sweating in warmer weather) but works great for water repellancy in cold weather. | |

Awesome on my Arc'Teryx Sidewinder

| I used this stuff on my favorite Kermit ski jacket this season, and it rocked. I had total strangers on the lift asking me how new my jacket was because of how much beading action there was. They were shocked to find out it was four seasons old! Since then, I've done my OR bivvy sack also, and had similar great results. | |

the Nikwax TX Direct Wash In works great at getting more life out of that jacket you spent $$$ on. I have used this on all of my jackets and has helped keep me dry. I use it with the spray on tech wash to get the most waterproof I can. Have used by itself and would definitely buy it again.

| I've used this product a few times on gortex' and Patagonia's breathable waterproof shell gear. It is important to follow the directions. However, a good quality powder detergent safe for baby clothes can be substituted for the Nikwax prep wash. Follow with a second cycle with just water to ensure effective rinse before using the TX. | |

Not for garments with wicking liners

This stuff works really well. But keep in mind, it is made mainly for rain gear without a liner on the inside. If you have a jacket with a fleece backing or fuzziness on the inside, go with the spray on TX Direct rather than the wash-in. It says that right on the label.

Worked for Drytop | |

| Water beads up well on my Kokatat Tropos drytop again. Did not work as well on Tropos drysuit. I checked with nikwax and Kokatat to ensure it was compatible. I used techwash first as recommended. I bought the drysuit used so I'm not sure if it needs more cleaning more treatments or what. | |

Works great - multi-year user of Nikwax

| I have been using Nikwax TechWash and WashIn for years. It revives the waterproofness on my high-tech fabrics and makes my basic nylon fabrics waterproof for a limited time. If you only have a nylon jacket with you, this is a great way to add temporary waterproofness! | |

Good. but... | |

This stuff worked well on one of my jackets. Made it function close to new. On my other, older jacket, it didn't do the trick. When combined with the Tech Wash, this is good stuff, but it isn't a foolproof way to restore an older garment.
