I am a river guide and was looking for a good watch that could handle the river, and when I saw this I thought, if it can handle surfing, it can handle the river. However, after about 2 months the light stopped working then a couple weeks later it just stopped working all together. I sent it in for a warranty and they sent me a new one of this year's model so it was good to get an upgrade, but I wasn't stoked that for the amount of money I spent it didn't last a little longer.

Extremely durable watch. I have taken it 16 meters deep on a dive and everyone who sees it comments on how cool it is. The Automatic Tide System is great for monitoring tides with no more than a glimpse.

Nixon The "NO"-down | |

Looks dope, but not really sure about the quality. The 1st one crapped out the 1ST TIME I PADDLED OUT, within in 5 minutes. It filled with water and then made some crazy Space Invaders beeping noises ... pretty weak.

I've gone through 1 regular lodown and 2 lodown Ti's. Though warranty department knows me on a first name basis and keep their word, it's ridiculous how delicate these "surf" watches are. Bottom line: save the money and buy another watch.

Looks good....absolute junk!

removed it from the box, looked good and decided to surf with it immediately. All systems go until I returned from the H2O. All the buttons malfunctioned so watch is worthless to me. Sending it back for a refund!

I bought this watch before going on a surf trip to Fiji. My first paddle out I guess water seeped in and when I looked at it, the face looked cloudy and the digital numbers were going haywire. It finally stopped working after I pushed a few buttons. When I returned home, I called Nixon to let them know what had happened and they replaced it no problem. They had told me that there was a recall on the watch because there was something wrong with the seal. Anyhow, my replacement watch died today when I went surfing. It did the same thing when I was in Fiji. At least it lasted a year and a half. I'm going to call Nixon again to see if they can help me with it. If not, then I am looking into getting a more durable watch like the Casio G-Shock GXL5600. Hopefully that will last more than a year and a half.
