Nixon Principle Backpack Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

This has one of the orange plastic pull-tabs on the main compartment broke within the first week or two I had the backpack. Which stinks because it is pretty expensive, and now I have a random string to pull open the zipper, ruining the look. Also there are laser cut parts of the pack, and it is starting to fray a bit after a few months of using often, not daily. Other than the above it is held up well, and much more interesting design-wise than anything else that I have been able to find for a decent price. Most other designs seem to have too much pattern, or do not have decent compartments. this one is a nice daily pack. The computer compartment is nice. The red/orange accents are really nice.

For a size comparison, this backpack is slightly bigger than the popular JanSport SuperBreak. The materials and details are superior though. The softer straps and mesh back make this backpack very comfortable. There are also nice details on the zipper handles, as well as a leather bottom. The laptop compartment is also very useful. However, I would estimate that the biggest laptop size it can hold is 14". My 14" laptop with extended battery fit very snugly, so I doubt a 15" would fit at all. One thing to note though is that there is no organizer in the small pocket, unlike the one available in the SuperBreak. The pocket on this backpack is simply a pouch.

I purchased both the Nixon Precinct backpack and the Nixon Principle above and ended up going with the Precinct that was a bit more expensive. The nylon and the leather bottom on the other backpack is superior. This bag's bottom is more of a coating instead of a more durable leather. The best/worst feature of this bag is the laptop slot. The slot is a 14" opening (I measured). An extra inch or two would probably fit most laptops with a 15" diagonal screen size.

Backpack looks great and can hold a good amount of things. The laptop slot is perfect and very convenient. Comfortable fit.

Neutral Reviews:

This review comes after 1.5 months of use. Everything about this backpack is great, but like one of the previous reviews stated, the zipper pull tab on the main compartment broke! It's made of plastic, and clearly isn't sturdy enough for daily zipping. Pretty disappointed, since the backpack is great in every other way, and I love the computer compartment.
