Northwave Bike Aerator Racing Road Shoe

Gram-counters, get out your scales; these shoes are significantly heavier than other carbon-soled shoes in their price range. That disclaimer aside, I like these shoes a lot! I normally wear a 42; I found the 42 Northwaves I ordered to be a bit large, but when I replaced the insoles with orthotics and donned slightly thicker socks for the winter weather, the fit was perfect. Nice large toe boxes and a deep heel cup for excellent security in the shoes. Chances are it wouldn't be a bad idea to re-evaluate your bike's fit with your new shoes; I had to raise my seatpost nearly 10 mm to maintain correct leg extension. Bottom line: you can do better on fit, weight, and performance in the same price point, but grabbing them on sale or on Chainlove cannot be beat.

Very flashy. I noticed a significant difference in power and efficiency over my old, mountain shoes that I rode everything with. These fit my, I think average, foot like a glove, and the 2 straps paired with the ratchet system and heel retention really make you feel like your one with your bike. Also the side to side movement of the bolt holes allows you to fine tune your cleat position from front to back, left to right, and even twist the cleat a bit. Did I mention that they are really flashy?

These shoes come with a sticker that says "I <3 Biking". And without a doubt these people are serious about this shoe. Lots of vents. My feet run a bit wide and they fit perfectly. Rachet system is easier to use than that of the sidi genius 6.6, which i returned. Sole has a patch to protect the carbon fiber from the cleats. Sidi shoes make you stick it on yourself. A little rubber stopper in the heel to help you walk and to protect the soles. A bit heavier than the sidis tho.
