Three-strap convenience, carbon-fiber power, and Northwave's exclusive Aerator System come together in the elite-level Men's Aerlite 3 Cycling Shoes. Air scoops channel a fresh breeze from the toe past your foot, then out the side and rear mesh panels. The Web Power Cage locks your foot in at three points, connecting you firmly to the anatomic insole and carbon plate outsole and maximizing pedal output. A unique Ultra Y heel insert eases entry while increasing retention once your foot is in the shoe.

Great if they work for your feet

Even given the high price, these are a great deal in high-end cycling shoes. Unfortunately for me they just didn't fit according to the Northwave size chart. I wear a US size 10.5 running shoe and I normally wear a Nike Poggio 4 UL in a size 44 that is perfect. I gave the Northwave's a try in the recommended size 43 and they were about a full (European) size too small. It's too bad because otherwise these shoes rock: excellent fit and finish, great heel retention, large and secure velcro straps, and great looks. The only other thing I'm not sure about with these shoes is the toe-box, which for me rubbed my big toe. There's a chance that this could just be chalked up to the fact that they were too small, but it looked to me like it would still be an issue even with a properly sized shoe. Who knows, and maybe they will work for you. FWIW, I returned them and decided to go with Sidi Genius 6.6 Full Carbons, which fit me great in size 45.

I've got a bit of a wide foot. Have been riding Carnac's for some time, but lately the toe box is just too tight. I was looking for a stiff shoe, with velco as I'm not a fan of the ratchet systems. I only have a few rides, but love these so far...No more tingly feet at the end of the ride. I wear an 8.5 shoe and these sized true to that (40.5). The heel cup is nice and snug and the toes have room to move, without having too much. I have look cleets mounted to them. My only complaint is that the tongue doesn't go a little deeper into the shoe. When putting them on, it can get a bit cock-eyed and folded over. No real biggie tho. I can't speak much to the ventilation. I really never found hot or wet feet to be an issue. I really didn't buy them for this, just thought they we're a great shoe for the price and feel validated on that.

Killer Road Shoe | |

I love these shoes for many reasons. They fit my super wide big foot really well. The venting is amazing during the SLC heat. The durability and quantity of the product have yet to be compromised. My only gripe is the color way. For my taste, different solid colors would allure me a bit more. I'd really like to see a full white (they have this for 2009!!!). I am one of the few riders that do not like the ratcheting closure that all shoe manufactures are moving to...

Great shoe. I rode the predecessor (Aerator 3) all last season and was pleased with the upgrades made to the Aerlite (lighter weight, better padding and better straps). I prefer velcro straps to buckles as I feel I get a better adjustment and have less issues "on the fly". I wear a 8.5 US shoe and the size 41.5, usually perfect, fits just a bit snug (big toe just touches front end of shoe). Last year's 41.5 fit perfect so there may be a stretch issue there too.

Be Careful ,Looks like Northwave changed the Last on these new shoes. The Aerlite 3 is much more snug fitting in the Toebox then the older Aerator 3.I wear a size 44 Aerator 3 which is huge in the toebox 9. Tried a 44 and 44.5 Aerlite 3 and both are a little too snug fitting. It's too bad because the Aerlites are ALOT nicer then the Aerators.

I have a wide fore foot and regular to narrow heel. I ride five days/week and race local and national mt. bike races. A good bit of my training rides are on the road. I have tried many top of the line road shoes and these are far and away the best fitting and performing shoes I have ever had.

First time user of a carbon soled shoe and I love them! Not only is the shoe very comfortable and breathes well, but the sole is rated at an 8.4 stiffness, which I feel is the perfect transition from a traditional soled shoe. Not too stiff, but stiff enough to notice the power transfer.

Excellent light weight shoe that breathes well and has a great stiff sole that makes for all day comfort on long rides. Great looks if that matters. Be sure and check for proper size as I normally wear a 44 and these were just right as a 43.

The shoe itself was perfect. Well ventilated, quality construction, and super sweet looking. I had problems with the fit, I couldn't get the proper fit. Other than the fit the shoe was perfect. Buy a pair, they are perfect.

Like heaven for guys with wide feet. I've tried many different road shoes and these are perfect. I've never been more comfortable on long rides. And, as my buddy says, they peg the cool meter!
