Backcountry.com Outlet

Rain down a world of pain on the competition when you wear the Northwave Men's Typhoon S.B.S. Cycling Shoe. Break free from the middle of the pack with its carbon composite sole, which transfers your energy directly from shoe to pedal. The Typhoon's upper forms around the shape of your foot for a dialed-in fit while adjustable buckles and hook-and-loop straps securely strap in your feet. Ventilation enters through the toes to keep your dogs cool, and an anatomical footbed provides comfort for long rides.

great shoes, great deal

Rating:*****

These are just outstanding. I also purchased a pair of the Raptor SBS shoes and while I like the Raptors, these are more comfortable. Don't get me wrong, I like the Raptor SBS MTB shoe, but I wish they felt as good as these. One note though, the sizing is true to european sizing in my opinion. I usually wear a 44 and I wore a 44 in these while their conversion would have put me in a 43 or 43.5. I actually ordered the 43.5 and 44 to see what fit best, and the 44 did the trick. My feet are a bit wide however so take that into consideration. I would say I'm normally just over a 10 EEE shoe and the 44 was spot on for me.

Great Buy

Rating:*****

I had a hell of a time finding shoes that fit me comfortably (I'm a US 13), and gave up after going to the 6th local bike shop. I thought I would wear a 47, but that equated to a US 14 so I bought a 46, which is 13. Lo and behold, they were too small, so I returned them (Backcountry has the BEST return policy, period) and got the 47. I would suggest ordering a size up and returning if too big. I just did an easy 20 miles in them and they feel great. Looks like I'll be sticking with Northwave from here on out.

Great shoe for the price

Rating:*****

I'm a long-time Shimano shoe wearer, but decided to give these a try after seeing them on BT for a great price. I was worried at first glance when they arrived, because the tongue looked very thin, and the vents on top of the toe look like metal screening (we'll find out if it rusts over time). However, the fit is excellent - nice wide toe box, the straps and buckle are snug without binding/pinching, and the footbed feels great, even on my high arches. I've got only about 500 miles on them, but so far I'm very impressed.

Great shoe

Rating:*****

As a first time user of cycling shoes I am very pleased with the Typhoon. They fit very true to size and are really comfortable. The carbon plate is really rigid and makes every pedal stroke count with little wasted energy. The straps on the shoe make adjusting the fit easy. These shoes are great for first time riders and I would imagine for serious riders as well. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone and I cant imagine getting a better pair for the price.

Good from the start.

Rating:*****

I have been very pleased with the fit and sizing 43.5, I wear a 10.5 in a runner. My forefoot is wider while my heel is relatively narrow this shoe accommodated both, which I have found to be rare. I was very happy to find that there was virtually no break in necessary (my "BG" footbeds may have helped.) Stiffness is adequate. If they holdup they will be one of the best cycling values I have found.

Great fit, nice wide toe area

Rating:*****

Nice fit, choose true size, may feel a little tight to start but they bed in really nice, I pronate naturally so in a bike shoe I generally get arch pain, not in these.
