Oakley Mystic Pant: Pull on the Oakley Men’s Mystic Pant, and you just might wonder if there’s some kind of unexplained phenomenon protecting you from the wet, snowy conditions. In actuality, it’s merely the high-quality, three-layer construction of this waterproof breathable pant. Ample pocket space holds all your gear for the day, and inside thigh vents help you let off some steam on warm days. Oakley also added a snow skirt system and boot gaiters to seal you off in rough storms and a RECCO avalanche rescue reflector to increase your chance of recovery in the event of a slide.

Pretty good pants

Rating:****

I was a little hesitant to pick these up since the sizing charts on Oakley's site is useless and backcountry seems to have gotten their numbers from there. My problem is that sometimes the pants that fit my waist are too long and drag and rip.

I'm 5'9" 170 lbs. so I decided to try the mediums since I wear a size 32 pants. Luckily they fit me just right. For the mediums, I measured from the crotch down the leg = ~29.5" and the length from the waist to the bottom of the leg was ~42". Hope that helps for people who are still deciding if this fits. And this fit is really baggy.

The pants look like they're good quality. The zippers are easy to use and haven't gotten stuck unlike my Burton AK jacket which has horrible zippers. All the pockets are fully taped. 2 pockets in the front, 2 cargos by the knee, and 2 rear pockets. There isn't a liner inside, so you need to layer up. I don't know if I would pay the full retail price of 375 for them because it's a pretty basic pant with good waterproof and breathability. But I don't see anything wrong with it so far and hope it lasts.

Much better than Last years Oakley

Rating:*****

So i went on a whim and picked these up, already having last years Oakley Over the Top (OTT) bib. What a difference in these two pieces. Easily explained, the Mystic pant has all the style, tons of features including Recco and tons of pockets. Also has a magnet flap so that adds a little weight, but then you dont have to deal with crappy Velcro, and they have a great baggy fit. The material of the pant is also beefed up from last years, as it holds up better to my ski edges. The OTT bib was cut up on the cuffs in 1 day of use, ive used the Mystic about 10-15 days this seasaon so far and still in primo condition. The only down side to the pant is that its just a shell, so if you're rocking this in some chilly temps, layer up!

Awesome, but...

Rating:****

These pants are great. They're waterproof like you wouldn't believe, and the waist size (large) fits me at 33. My only complaint is that the legs seem a bit short for the waist size. I bought them off of steep and cheap for about 100 bucks so I guess I can't complain, but I didn't know they were a ski-specific design when I first bought them. This basically means the legs are bit shorter than snowboard pants of the same size. I'm not totally put off by the fact that the back of my pant leg isn't dragging on the ground behind my boot, but it's good to know beforehand.

solid resort pants

Rating:*****

these are comfortable, waterproof, and steezy pants. i haven't tried them in truly drenched conditions yet, but they seem to stand up to anything i have put them through so far. they also aren't getting cut by my edges around the ankles when i huck or crash (usually one after the other). Pockets are nice and deep, and the venting system works really well. while i'm not a giant fan of oakley outerwear, their venting system is really dialed - it really keeps the fresh air flowing.

Pretty good pants

Very high quality. But, way too baggy for me. I really really wish this pants wasnt as baggy. Sigh......

Loose means looooooooose

Rating:***

I bought the Mystic Jacket and pants both in a size small. I received them the other day in the mail. Right out of the box I was impressed with the style, color (shadow), and build quality. What really impressed me, and mainly the reason for buying the suit, was the ability to zip the snow skirt of the jacket to the pants and create a one piece suit. The system works beautifully. However, I am sending both pieces back today. The main problem for me was the fit. I am 5'6" 150 lbs and I ordered a size small in both pieces. I anticipated a "loose" fit, but this was way to loose for me. I like the way the suit looks, I think its fantastic. However, on someone on the shorter side of life, it made me look like a 12 yr old borrowing his dads outfit. More than that, I found that due to the ill fit my motion was restricted by bunching and movement of the suit. Overall, great style and quality and it looks like it will keep the weather out, it just wasn't the proper fit for me. A note on the pants, the size small felt pretty loose in the waist. I am a size 30. I have the Oakley Brigade pant in a small and it fits perfectly, but I think Oakley labels those as "regular" fit.

Not For Skiers

Rating:***

I ski and snowboard. I think these pants are the bomb for snowboarding, but not for skiing.
Reason being that the inside ankle area cuts very easily on the edges of your skis.
