nice shoe, but be aware

When I first put this shoe on, I thought, "Oh yeah, these are great," and the first few days they were. Then I went on my first serious walk - about 10km. I noticed a pinch point near the ball of my foot and on each of my outer toes. At 50 km on the shoe, I tried switching my Birkenstock footbed, but the narrow toe box didn't allow that. Moleskin, and careful lacing, with a more gentle break in has made these a decent hiking shoe. With almost 300km on them now, they fit well as long as I lace them loose in the toe and increasing tightness up the shoe. Undecided if I would buy another pair or not.

I love this shoe

This shoe is just the right fit for me... The sales team at EMS in Warwick, RI sold this shoe to my girlfriend and she fell in love with this shoe. I used to buy The North Face Hedgehog shoe, I went through six pairs, but now they changed that shoe and it isn't comfortable. I was hesitant to purchase a brand I never heard of. I gave Oboz a chance and I'm really glad I did. The feel, the style, the technology and the comfort are all great. A+++

My "Go To" Boot

I'd been wearing a different boot on long daily walks; it turned out to have too much flex on the bottom and I developed an injury. I found this Oboz Bdry Sawtooth boot, which has a rigid bottom. I now wear this boot almost all day, every day, and the improvement is amazing. This boot is the best friend my feet have ever known - I just bought two more pairs from EMS so that I have an assured supply. Fantastic product!

comfortable and lightweight

I am attempting to use these instead of hiking boots for backpacking (we plan to hike the AT next spring) they do not provide quite as much traction as I had hoped for but they are good. For me the biggest question is ankle support. They are low cut and if you need ankle support these may not be the best for you. I wear a brace on my left ankle and I am hoping that this will be sufficient.

OBOZ Men's Sawtooth BDry by Oboz

I wear this shoe everyday to work. It is very comfortable. I have worn this same shoe on two 7 day backpacking trips in the Colorado Mountains and in Yosemite. The low top requires some care on rocky trails to prevent turning an ankle but my feet have never felt so good at the end of a backpacking trip.

really like them!

I use these shoes for everything as I don't buy a lot of clothes. Seams /threads started coming out 2nd day I had them. Had to snip threads and secure with super glue. Not a big deal but shouldn't have to do that. Inexcusable from a manufacturing standpoint. Love the shoes though.

A New & Happy Oboz Customer

I live in the mountains around Angel Fire New Mexico. When I'm not hiking in the mountains I'm walking down the streets of this New Mexico high country village. The SAWTOOTH BDry performs well in both environments. The shoe is rugged, hardworking and looks good too!

Good Shoe - Time will Tell

I received these and they were very confortable straight out of the box. With my low arches, they give me good support. These will be good for easy day hikes with a light day-pack. I would not use these for a multi-day trip carrying 30lbs.

Great shoes

These are well made shoes. I have not had for a long time and do not know just how water proof they are but they are very comfortable for long hikes and seem very well made.

Good As My Merrells

I like these as well as my worn-out but beloved Merrells. If they wear as well, they'll be just as good. [I trail hike about 12 miles a week.]

Negative Reviews:

No Cushioning

Runs narrow and so does the toe box. Sized up bit the toe box ended up being an issue any way. Also, by the end of the day the lack of cushioning really became a pain. Pretty sad that my tactical boots are more comfortable on the trail than "hikers".

Slippery when wet

I bought these shoes for a few days of hiking in the white mountains in early summer late spring. I found them extremely comfortable immediately, no break in required. The conditions of the terrain we hiked varied extremely and I found that the shoes performed excellently in all but one area. I learned the hard way several times over that the soles of these shoes are EXTREMELEY slippery on rock faces of any angle when even so much as dampened.

Good boot but the tow's are pealing back

Hikeing the adrondack high peaks. On a 3 day trip 50 miles. Caused chafing on the anckle bone as well as on the heal, only one boot tho. The tow rubber is pealing back on both. Beside this the boat tread is great for all summer ADK terrain.
