Contrary to what it says in the tech specs, these do NOT have a Gore-Tex membrane. They are straight leather. I found this out when I received mine. Not a deal-breaker, but it definitely makes it less of a value.
I got the charcoal/stone variant and I really like them. I noticed that one reviewer (Jonathan Rambo) suggests possibly sizing up if you're on the cusp and another (Ryan Hamilton) suggests the opposite. I tend to agree with Jonathan. I normally wear a size 11 and that's what I got for these. They fit just right. So well, that I can't wear thick socks with them. I'm sticking with this size rather than 11.5 because they are very comfortable and, being leather, I know they will probably stretch a little as I break them in. I definitely would not have been happy in a size 10.5, though.
The soles are weird and you kind of feel the lugs through the midsole. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is something to get used to. I'm not really sure what the point is of getting all creative with a part of the shoe that no one will see.
Overall, I'm very happy with these shoes.
Just got these last week and it's like I'm cheating when I wear them. They feel like I'm walking around in slippers all day, take that civilized world. After comfortable, the next best word to describe these is quality. Everything is PERFECT. The leather is perfect. The stitching, both ornamental and structural, is perfect. The fact that you can wear them as normal shoes, or fold the heal area down to wear as slides is awesome. Sizing is interesting. If you're going to wear them as normal shoes then size down 1/2 size. I wear an 11.5 most of the time and got these in 11.5. They are a bit bigger than I might like. But, if you fold down the heal the size is perfect. Seems to go against logic, but you'll have to trust me on this. Anyway, great shoes, buy them, love them.
I bought a pair of the older version of these which are fabric instead of leather or suede. I really like these shoes easy to get on and off comfortable year round and can work for casual or more formal occasions. I wear a 10.5 and 10.5 seems to work, but I think they run on my smaller spectrum so if you are already close to maxing out on 10.5 I think this is a shoe you might want to size up a half size.
These shoes are good looking and high quality, and can be casual or dressed up in a variety of looks. Everyday, wear-to-work, the corner pub, etc. However, they are REALLY wide, and not only do they fit and feel wide, they LOOK oddly wide... If they were sized/marked as wide shoes, that would be one thing, but they aren't, and for that reason I gave them 4 stars instead of five. And I don't have narrow feet, just average width.
Awesome shoe, these things are amazing. Very comfortable and really cool looking. I did have to go a half size smaller than my normal size, they probably aren't a full half size too large, but like a 1/4 size large.
