great pack | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
This is a great pack, I love the mesh back, the side compartments as well as the small hip pouches. The only problem you will find if you buy this pack is that it will be difficult to pack it at first(give it about 4 trips) due to the curvature of the back part. Compression sacks will always be your friend, One thing I have found in order to maximize space for longer trips is i put my tent on the outside straps and then my pad between the main part of the bag and the brain of the pack. Once you learn how to pack this pack it is amazing, i wont buy another pack until this mine breaks, which doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

"This Osprey Backpack Rocks!"

| This pack is so comfortable! I really liked all the different pockets and straps - they're great for organization. My favorite was having a seperate zippered section for my sleeping bag or tent on the bottom of the pack. It is large enough for an extended trip (5-7 days), but can compress for a short 1-2 day trip. The ventilation is also great, one of the few packs that don't make my back all sweaty by the end of the day, and the hydration bladder fits right into the mesh ventilation area - without having to unpack your whole bag! I loved the way it fit on my hips, and especially love the load-lifter straps. Bottom line...great pack, very comfortable, and I would highly recommend! | |

for skinny necks | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I got the sapphire 3800cu and was excited by all the features it had to offer until I tried it on. Just trying on an empty backpack, the narrow shoulder straps was already rubbing my neck. It was the first time I've had this problem so this pack is made for skinny necks. It's an excellent pack and I wish I could keep it but having skin irritation is a no-no when hiking.

"Great pack" | |

| Have used this multiple times and it has done well. I love the accessibility of its pockets (especially the outside one). The only complaint is that on a long hike with it fully loaded I've noticed that it wore on my hips uncomfortably. Maybe that was a personal issue with fit that just needs adjustment. Still love it as a whole and will be taking it to Europe next summer. | |

great features-not perfect

love the outer features-hip belt pockets, shockcord loops, outer pockets. Packed about 30 pounds and did not provide enough support through lower back. Love the airflow frame but it intrudes on inner space. Sadly I had to trade to the Osprey Ariel pack with more substantial hip belt. Would be a great pack for lightweight trips.

great for backpacking weekends

| I can fit all my stuff in here and not have a lot of wasted unused room--my platypus hoser fits well and keeps my back cool--great stability for the bag given the lightweight of the bag and the carrying capacity it holds--I plan to take this bag with me thru hiking the at this year | |

| I recently got this backpack and love it!! It is so supportive, and keeps the weight dispersed where it should be. Plus, back panel design keeps the weight off my back, and allows air to circulate, avoiding major sweat-age. Plus, the baja blue is beautiful! | |

| I decided to shave some weight and replace my beloved 15 year old Osprey pack. I love the outside storage options and the hydration carry system. Quite comfortable with a 35 pound load. | |
